ULTRA’s 23rd edition has barely subsided, but plans for its 24th year have already been unfurled, as we see no before us. Following a successful 2023 edition at Bayfront Park that sold out, attracting 165,000 attendees and amassing a staggering 42 million views on their #ULTRALIVE stream, the festival is poised to return from March 22-24, 2024.
Among the stars aligning for this musical gathering, global sensation Calvin Harris makes his eagerly-awaited return, having been absent since 2013. Fans will be treated to the harmonious genius behind collaborations with heavyweights like Rihanna, Sam Smith, and Ellie Goulding. Joining the roster is the dynamic duo of FISHER and Chris Lake, hot from their Hollywood Boulevard show, introducing their “UNDER CONSTRUCTION” set to Ultra’s discerning audience.
The phase 1 lineup for 2024 promises an array of debut performances, notably SVDDEN DEATH’s joint venture with Space Laces and Eptic, dubbed MASTERHAND. It’s not just about the newcomers; familiar faces are set to grace the stage once more. Hardwell, the Dutch maestro, returns post his four-year hiatus, reminding attendees of his intrinsic connection with Ultra since his surprise Main Stage performance in 2022. Martin Garrix, an Ultra staple since his debut at a tender 17, will be back, as will the captivating Nora En Pure, bringing her signature deep house sound and introducing the first-ever “Purified” stage.
The festival’s scope expands beyond individual artists. The beloved A State of Trance resumes its annual stage takeover, celebrating its 12th anniversary at Ultra. Audiences can also expect a riveting show from Oliver Heldens, who has dazzled ULTRA Worldwide audiences from Europe to Brazil.
The festival’s commitment to bass aficionados remains unwavering. Zeds Dead, SLANDER, and the reintroduction of Excision after a six-year hiatus, stand testament. Also, the crowd is set to be enthralled by Black Tiger Sex Machine’s new “The Anime Show.”
Festival favorites such as Afrojack, Tiësto, David Guetta, Vintage Culture, and Gryffin further embellish the lineup. Not to be overshadowed, Ultra’s RESISTANCE stages will play host to underground titans like Peggy Gou, Adam Beyer, and Eric Prydz, ensuring that all facets of electronic music are thoroughly represented.
With a lineup as diverse and magnetic as this, Ultra 2024 promises to be another unforgettable chapter in the annals of electronic music festivals. This event is truly a rite of passage for those who live and breath electronic music – a true bucket list item – don’t let another year slip by if you’ve yet to experience it.
