Dedicated to bridging the gap between hip-hop and electronic music, progressive artist VinDon is quickly making a name for himself. As the son of dancehall legend Ninjaman, VinDon was invested in music by the age of nine, when he wrote his first lyrics. VinDon grew up in the small town of Mandeville in central Jamaica and was fascinated by prominent Jamaican artists, such as Shabba Ranks and Sizzla. Gaining additional inspiration from the likes of Biggie, Outkast, Jay Z, and Eminem, VinDon merged elements of hip-hop with trap and electronic to forge his one-of-a-kind sound.
Emphatically breaking out onto the scene, VinDon dropped bangers like “Badniss” and his viral hit “Phenomenon” with the renowned duo Unknown Brain and Canadian rap icon Dax. “Phenomenon” has already received over eight million collective streams, which puts VinDon at nearly 15 million altogether. His songs are so influential that they have been synced with popular events like the ESL One Grand finals and the Premier League montage. As his success starts to spiral out of control, VinDon brings drum & bass fans his new single “Demnuhbad”.
This invigorating track is dropped on the globally recognized label of NoCopyrightSounds and is a collaborative project with experienced producer Vosai. Sharing the idea behind “Demnuhbad”, VinDon explains, “I wrote the song while reflecting on my ascent in the music industry so far and realizing that I’m just getting started. It comes from a place of being fully aware of your capabilities and the readiness to maximize your potential in any given situation.”
Joined by the song is a captivating music video as well. The film utilizes 4k cameras to give off a theatrical feel, as VinDon battles his enemies in the forest. While the layers of drum & bass build anticipation, VinDon is shown in a samurai dojo outfit with lush scenery behind him.
