Los Angeles-based Spaniard Cara Hart continues to show off her unique flavour of pop-oriented soundscapes following her debut single “Breaking Habits”. She now serves up “Glitter”, produced by Dwilly, whose skills have seen him clock up millions of plays and officially remix the likes of Kiiara, Grey, NOTD and Felix Jaehn among others.
While Cara’s first single was a self-reflective story about recognizing one’s personal bad habits, “Glitter” shows off a new fierce and powerful unapologetic side. While standing out with a unique sound of her own, her powerful voice and creative songwriting imagery undoubtedly remind us of the quality of pop-princess Katy Perry at times. “Glitter” is about showing she is unafraid to staying true to who she is, no matter what anyone thinks, teaching us that life can be full of magic, as long as we believe in it. The song feels like a progression to her previous release referencing habits but takes a notably more emotive touch.
Speaking on her mindset at the time of writing the track she says “ I went through a really dark moment last year, had to cut out a lot of people, and slept in my car. My life collapsed overnight. I realized I had to take care of myself, and my life. I was ready to give up my dreams and book a flight back home when I got a call from a producer to record some new songs. That moment made me feel like I could take on anything, I was electrified. Glitter represents that moment, I didn’t want the magic to stop, so I didnt.”
