The combination of Chris Lake’s groovy house production and Grimes’ angelic and stand out vocal makes for a track that is sure to be up there as the house release of the year, there’s no wonder why the anticipation was so high for it.
NPC is a new girl group by Grimes. Members are infinite in number and can be voted in or out, except for core members such as the baby Warnymph.
NPC will hone the concepts of Art Angels ans Miss Anthropocene, finally manifesting the endless characters in grimes head. NPC can do all the things humans cannot. NPC will eventually be playable, customizable, and able to cater to each individual listener’s unique desires.
While Grimes hasn’t confirmed the meaning behind the name NPC, it’s likely a reference to the acronym for ‘non-player characters’ – a video game character not controlled by a player or an AI.
