British Colombia based singer and producer Conro has released his newest project, the Melodramatic EP. Armed with six tracks, the EP is a brilliant display of Conro’s substantial talent.
Conro’s latest release on Monstercat showcases a renewed source of inspiration as he explores a heartfelt synth-pop sound. Departing from his uplifting style, this album delves into a more emotional realm. Drawing inspiration from the experiences of his loved ones, Conro’s lyrics reflect his keen observations, while his experimentation with new instruments ignited a surge of creativity, prompting him to break free from the familiar ‘presets’ he had grown accustomed to over the years.
“This EP was an idea of focusing lyrics from other people’s lives; observing and trying to put myself in their shoes,” shares Conro. “I typically write from my own experiences (and there might be some of that sprinkled in this EP) but for this project, the core of each song was derived from what I had seen my friends and family going through. The theme stayed true to a dance vibe and I wanted the songs to be like a mini set that you could listen to front-to-back cohesively. The music process was a lot of fun, and I found myself staying up till 3-4am dancing in my studio losing track of time!”
