Folks are in for some serious heat as two emerging talents in the house music scene, CRMBS and SCHEINY, are set to electrify the genre with the release of two epic tracks under the renowned underground label Hood Politics, led by DJ Susan. The duo’s first offer, “The Way You Moov,” along with the second track, “Sidechick,” following hot on its heels.
“The Way You Moov” goes beyond the call of duty. CRMBS and SCHEINY reenvision Outkast’s iconic “I Like the Way You Move,” transforming it into a dance floor anthem that’s both infectious and innovative. The track is a symphony of rhythmic grooves, foot-tapping basslines, and breakbeat elements, creating an experience that’s as uplifting as it is entrancing. It’s a vocal-driven melody that simultaneously pays respect to its roots while charting a new, exhilarating course.
“Sidechick” takes this innovation even further. It’s a bold reinterpretation of the Pointer Sisters’ “Betcha Got a Chick on the Side,” morphed into a bass house anthem with a distinctly 21st-century flair. The track is a mélange of pulsating beats, relentless basslines, and masterfully transformed vocal samples, all coming together to create a soundscape that’s both fresh and familiar.
The genesis of this collaboration traces back to 2017 in the Bahamas during “Holy Ship,” where CRMBS and SCHEINY’s friendship and mutual passion for music blossomed. Over the years, their bond deepened, with a shared focus on creating driving club tracks that are both innovative and dance-floor-ready.
In a celebration of these releases, SCHEINY and CRMBS are gearing up for a back-to-back (b2b) performance, offering direct support for the tech house sensation Wenzday at Sound Bar in Chicago on December 9th.
