Indonesia’s Edgy New R&B Princess Reikko Drops ‘Down For Whatever’

First came NIKI, now the bustling nation of Indonesia has put another one of it’s local talents on the global arena. Introducing Reikko, a multi-talented singer and songwriter with a penchant for R&B infused pop. This past week she arrived with a standout new single called ‘Down For Whatever” that features fellow Indonesian Cellosux, who notably won 88 Risings talent search. The new single has recieved wide appraise on release, being supported in coveted ‘New Music Friday Playlists’ across the region.

Having initially launched at the tail end of last year with her self-released ‘Can’t Stay Away’, she picked up a wave of support online, including the attention of Spotify who added her to several tastemaker playlists. It sparked the curiosity of fans and the local music community, amongst them upstart label Pluus Records with whom she’s now landed a record deal.

Reikko’s musical journey began at the age of 13 and over the years she’s been creating numerous covers, since then she’s clearly honed her craft. While Reikko was born in Indonesia she has spent the better part of the last 10 years based in the US. She has a stunning style which embodies influences from her native homeland and meanwhile compares with the quality of the biggest artists in the world.
