Baltimore’s own Jaxyn Lethe has released her new album, “I am I don’t know,” it’s shaping up to be something special. This indie-electronic EP shines a light on Lethe’s incredible ability to blend diverse sound textures, from smooth to disruptive, with lyrics that hit close to home. What sets this project apart is that Lethe has poured her heart and soul into every aspect of it—writing, producing, mixing, and mastering the whole thing by herself.
Her music is a cool mix of different electronic styles, wrapped up in a “bedroom-pop” vibe with a dash of dance. The title track, “I am I don’t know,” is a standout, offering a glimpse into Lethe’s skill as both a songwriter and producer. Lethe shares that this EP is a collection of her best electronic tracks over the last four years, featuring a mix of old and new. From tunes written in her teens like “White Noise” and “R2N” (Road to Nowhere), to the more recent “Techno Beats,” “So Much Fun,” and the EP’s namesake, each song tells a part of her story. The spark for “I am I don’t know” came to her in a burst of inspiration during a late-night moment in Croatia, capturing the complex emotions of feeling undervalued in a relationship and the journey to finding oneself again.
With tracks like “So Much Fun,” channeling early-2000s indie vibes, and “Techno Beats,” where airy vocals meet dynamic synths, the EP promises an immersive listening experience. It’s the kind of music that gets you hooked and leaves you wanting more.
Now living in Boston, where she honed her craft at Berklee College of Music on a full scholarship, Lethe is quickly making waves. Since her first single dropped in November 2022, she’s been on a roll, with her music gaining traction on platforms like Spotify.
