Germany’s MELT Festival is gearing up for another summer bash, boasting one of Europe’s most thrilling and diverse lineups. Scheduled from July 11-13, 2024, in the unique setting of Ferropolis, Gräfenhainichen, the festival promises a roster filled with industry giants and breakout stars.
Leading the charge are UK legends Chase & Status, known for electrifying crowds with their dynamic DJ sets. Joining them is the duo Overmono, blending genres to redefine electronica with a touch of garage flair. The festival also welcomes nu-wave jazz icon Yussef Davies, alongside a host of other talents aiming to make their mark.
Festival director Florian Czok expresses enthusiasm for this year’s lineup, emphasizing the festival’s commitment to fresh talent and new experiences. “At MELT, we try to look beyond the horizon every year, to go new ways, and especially to give new artists a chance,” Czok explains. This year’s roster includes names like Sampha, Romy, the Sugababes, and Jayda G., plus emerging artists such as DJ Heartstring and Marlon Hoffstadt.
The eclectic mix doesn’t stop there. Up-and-comers Kenya Grace, COBRAH, No Guidnce, and Pretty Girl are poised to draw attention, many debuting their first shows in Germany at MELT. “Therefore, we can say with pride that we have succeeded in this balancing act again this year,” Czok adds.
MELT continues to draw attention not just for its lineup, but also for the unique Ferropolis venue, dubbed the ‘City of Iron’. This industrial backdrop sets the perfect scene for a festival that thrives on energy and exploration. With ticket sales matching pre-pandemic levels, MELT is set to be a highlight of the summer festival season. MELT Festival, a renowned event in Germany, has drawn crowds to the former Ferropolis open-cast mine in Gräfenhainichen for over 25 years. Offering a unique experience in the country, the festival features over 150 contemporary artists spanning various genres such as rap, indie, techno, house, and pop. Recent editions have seen performances from acclaimed acts like Fred Again.., Little Simz, Moderat, Róisín Murphy, Brutalismus 3000, Bicep (live), and Jamie xx.
