With Electronic Daisy Carnival (EDC) taking place in Las Vegas over the weekend, we’ve been treated with a slew of unreleased music. With so much new music to listen to, we’ve selected a handful of new ID’s that are definitely highlights from the 3 day festival.

Above & Beyond & Seven Lions – ID

With names like this in the title, its no surprise this is an incredible track. Each act has incorporated their own styles, with the end result an amazing mix of melodic dubstep and progressive trance. We are eagerly awaiting this one!

Seven Lions x Above and Beyond – ID @ EDC 2019 from r/EDM

Ekali & Illenium – ID

Two of North America’s best electronic/dubstep producers. With Illenium being a house hold name in dance music and Ekali being known for his visceral, captivating original work and collaborations to his thundering club remixes.

It is definitely not a bad track, however with these two talents involved – people expected something more. Some people felt “underwhelmed“.

CamelPhat feat. Jem Cooke – ID

After working with Jem Cooke on their incredible production ‘Breathe‘, Camelphat have teamed up with her again for this unreleased track. This release is a minimalistic production that focuses on Jem Cooke’s brilliant vocals. Just like with all of Camelphat’s track, its a catchy house production that should make waves!

David Guetta & Morten feat. Aloe Blacc – Never Be Alone

One of the highlights from Day 1 was David Guetta premiering his newest release together with Morten and with Aloe Blacc on vocals. This is a fresh sounding electrifying house record, a style we will see more of in the future!

Avicii ft. Agnes & Vargas & Lagola – Tough Love (Tiësto Remix)

Tiësto has remixed Avicii’s latest original ‘Tough Love‘, after Laidback Luke remixed ‘SOS‘ officialy, we can assume that this will see an official release also. Tiësto’s remix builds on Avicii’s incredible melody and brings it into more of a dance music territory with an energetic drop.

Fedde Le Grand Pens Sound of Tomorrow Anthem

0

Dutch dance music legend Fedde Le Grand is back on his Darklight imprint with ‘Like We Do‘ – the official track to The Sound of Tomorrow 2019 from industry giants Tomorrowland and Pepsi MAX.

With the bassline bringing the energy from the very first beat, Fedde Le Grand calls upon an edgier style of dance music for this groove-inducing anthem. Blending an electronic vocal piece with expertly built layers of vibrant synths and pulsating percussion, ‘Like We Do’ is crafted with the Main Stage in mind and is ready to take on the festival season full force.

Showcasing Fedde’s daring production prowess and his deeply rooted love for the dance floor, this addition to his catalogue will be the track that The Sound of Tomorrow 2019 finalists will have the chance to remix. The initial wave of contestants delivered a carefully curated mix, and the top ten mixes were selected, gaining their creators a place in a DJ Bootcamp in Ibiza. Receiving expert mixing tips and advice from Fedde during the two-day masterclass, three finalists were selected. One of the three finalists will now get the chance to put their own spin on ‘Like We Do’ and play a coveted set at Tomorrowland 2019. The winner will be determined by public voting online announced at the festival. The lucky competition winner will have their remix released via Fedde’s own imprint Darklight Recordings at the end of the competition.

Axtone Welcome Chocolate Puma and Carta With ‘Zhong’

0

Chocolate Puma and Carta both debut on Axwell’s Axtone Records with ‘Zhong‘. Axtone stated; “This is a big one for us! After almost 10 years of trying to sign Chocolate Puma it’s finally happening. It’s also a massive pleasure to release with our first artist from China, Carta.”

‘Zhong‘ is a funky rather simplistic release that packs an awesome house punch. Simplistic in a manner that it continues with its catchy melody almost all the way through the production – a similar vibe to Axtone’s recent releases. ‘Zhong‘ is a fresh 2019 take on gritty house music production.

重 (Zhong) is roughly translated as “is there anyone out there who’s into heavy bass” and judging by the reactions on dancefloors, the track has been uniting kindred spirits across the globe who are indeed, into heavy bass. Early supporters have included Alesso and Tiesto with Axtone boss Axwell featuring on his Minimix for Annie Mac on Radio 1.

NGHTMRE Drops Remix of Oliver Tree’s ‘Hurt’

0

NGHTMRE continues to ride the high of his groundbreaking performances with the release of his official remix of Oliver Tree’s “Hurt” via Warner Music/Atlantic Records. The two artists performed the new version of the song for the first time live at Coachella last month as part of Oliver’s surprise guest appearance during NGHTMRE’s set, which was a hit with the crowd inside the packed Sahara Tent. NGHTMRE lends his signature style to “Hurt” through cinematic synths and melodic basslines, which pair dramatically with Tree’s raw vocals. With over 20M streams on Spotify alone, the original version of the track is one of Oliver Tree’s the most successful releases to date, and NGHTMRE’s remix is set to be one of this summer’s electronic anthems.

I found Oliver Tree’s music last year and loved it! As soon as I heard “Hurt” I knew I wanted to make a remix that was melodic and vibey! Finally getting to meet him at Coachella and performing the song together was a dream come true!” – NGHTMRE

SLANDER Release New Track With Stunning CGI Video

The SLANDER boys are back on their own imprint: Gud Vibrations for ‘Love Is Gone‘ featuring Dylan Matthew, whom they’ve now collaborated with four times.

‘Love Is Gone‘ trades hard-hitting basslines for melodic dubstep vibes and emotive vocals. The talented duo weaves cinematic chords and delicate piano keys with exquisite instrumental melodies through the majority of the track, serving as a backdrop to Matthew‘s raw and emotional vocal performance. In a departure from festival anthems and a testament to SLANDER‘s dynamic abilities as producers, “Love is Gone” is very much a heartbreak track, but one that lifts listeners from the doldrums into the realms of catharsis.

Accompanying the track is its ethereal music video, in which fans can join a lone spaceman on a journey through worlds in search of that one metaphorical star.

Love Is Gone‘ is our biggest endeavor to date. The accompanying video has been in the works for the past 3 years and is comprised entirely of movie level CGI. Just the rendering process took over 3 months to complete. We are thrilled to finally give our fans a glimpse into this new universe we are creating for them, which comprises our new show visuals, this video, and a secret future project. We’ve been tight lipped about all of this until now and we are so happy to finally reveal some pieces to the story. This one has been a long time coming and we can’t wait to slowly reveal what’s next! Shout out to Roboto for absolutely crushing the video and showing us that there really is no limit on human creativity if enough time and effort is laid down. Also we would like to thank our long-time collaborator Dylan Matthew for once again delivering a stellar vocal performance. At this moment, we are the most proud we have ever been of a project, and we hope you guys enjoy the fruits of our labor.” – SLANDER

Oliver Heldens & Moguai Join Forces on ‘Cucumba’

0

Oliver Heldens and MOGUAI team up for their long overdue debut collaboration, joining forces on ‘Cucumba’.  Out now via Oliver’s label, Heldeep Records.

The result is a dancefloor weapon that displays both producers’ trademark sounds and musical knowledge, culminating in an uplifting summer anthem that is as equally fit for a club or festival as it is for the radio. The instrumental production focuses primarily on its main melody and rightfully so, as it’s super catchy. It basically runs through the entire release.

On working with Oliver Heldens, MOGUAI commented “the interesting thing is that people often ask me which producers I would compare myself to sound-wise, and although that’s difficult to answer I always say Fatboy Slim and Oliver. I told him this during his Heldeep party at ADE, and I don’t know if this kickstarted the collaboration, but from there we started sending ideas back and forth. I’m really happy with the outcome, it turned out great and it has a sound that I think is a good mixture of both our styles.”

Heldens continues, ‘For me, it’s a very enriching experience to work with someone like MOGUAI. He has incredible production experience that began before we started using computer software for music production. When he hit me up with a couple of ideas, it clicked straight away. I sent a melody to him that I thought was his style and the end result is fresh’.

‘Cucumba‘ is out now through Heldeep Records

Dave Winnel Releases 4 Track EP and Plays The Vinyl Live on ASOT

Having released each individually, Dave Winnel’s debut EP is finally complete. He has shown a whole new side to his productions after experimenting with new sounds and producing what he enjoys listening to personally.

The EP kicks things off with ‘Lily of The Valley‘, a melodic masterpiece that keeps things deep yet refreshing – overall it is a very uplifting and positive feeling track. ‘Ksamil‘ (named after a location in Albania Dave spent several months at over the summer), has a similar vibe to ‘Lily of The Valley’ – yet introduces vocals and a relaxing tone as the vocal suggests. ‘Hyperloop‘, is more of a punchy upbeat house track with a straightforward yet effective melody. Concluding with the most recent release, ‘Brain Bug‘ – it has a subtle break but builds up to and drops into a modern electro house production – what’s interesting is that ‘Brain Bug‘ only includes one ‘drop‘.

Dave Winnel played the entire EP on vinyl live at Armin Van Buuren’s studio for A State Of Trance 912. In their brief conversation, Dave explained his inspiration behind the EP.

“I wanted to just make something without thinking too much, I wasn’t thinking about the dance floors, record labels, I wasn’t thinking even about my fans. I just wanted to make something that made me happy. This is the kind of music I listen to, so this was what came out“

You can watch the full clip below. Stream the EP HERE and Purchase the Vinyl.

Deorro & Danny Avila ‘Keep It Goin’ With New Collaboration

After releasing ‘Pica‘, his collaboration withe Elvis Crespo & Henry Fong 2 months ago, Deorro returns to Ultra with ‘Keep It Goin‘ – teaming up with first time collaborator Danny Avila. After monster successes in ‘Five Hours‘ and ‘Bailar‘, Deorro seems to be back in the swing of things.

‘Keep It Goin‘ embraces Deorro signature bouncey sound but with a unique twist. The track is filled with a multitude of musical shades and colors that are perfect for festival season and sweaty dance floors alike. It’s packed with a knockout punch of Deorro’s bouncy electro beats and Danny Avila’s signature house sounds to create an instant anthem.

Otto Knows Returns to Music

0

After almost 7 months off from music overall as well as social media, Swedish artist Otto Knows is signalling that he is coming back with some new music. Having played his last set at Tomorrowland 2018 he went silent, deleting everything on his Instagram.

His reasons for taking a break are unknown but we can assume the tragic and very public loss of his close friend Avicii some months earlier played some part. His official note states that he is “having fun making music again”. While everyone deals with such loss in their own way having shared a long and also creative bond it can make it infinitely harder to move on and also find enjoyment in creating the very passion you shared with that person.

We’re unsure when we can expect new music exactly, however with Otto Knows’ discography we know it’ll be quality and we’re excited to see whats in store. Reddit user minineko commented about a potential new track: “Song is called “One In A Million”. Kinda down-tempo (101bpm) but it’s real groovy.” This title would be fitting considering his biggest track ‘Million Voices‘.

The note states the following

“Hi followers
It’s been a while crocodile
New music is coming your way
I have no idea where this journey will take us
All I know is that it started on a boat with me having fun making music again!

Peace & respect
Otto”

Update: Otto Knows has shared a video about his boat studio
