Top 10 with Sebastián Yatra: Live Performances

Medellin-born Sebastián Yatra returned to Colombia after being raised bilingually in Miami to pursue his love  of music. He quickly developed a distinctive artistic balance fusing the cross-cultural pop and rhythm  influences, showcasing his vocal and songwriting talents influenced by pop music’s most engaging vocalists.

At age 26, Sebastian Yatra has now amassed 8x Latin GRAMMYs nominations, 2x GRAMMYs nominations, 4x  Latin Billboard Award nominations, and just this year he received recognition with 7 nominations from Premio  Lo Nuestro. His genre-defying collaborations span from The Jonas Brothers, Halsey, One Republic, Juanes,  Maná, Daddy Yankee and more have crowned him as a generational talent in the Latin Pop music scene.

Fresh off the worldwide successes of singles “Chica Ideal” and “Adiós,” there was simply no better time to have caught up with the Colombian idol. Receiving multiple nominations at this year’s Premios Lo Nuestro, we decided to hear his thoughts on his favorite live performances over the years sharing “I have so many favorite performances but here are a few that have stood out throughout the years.”

“I grew up seeing this festival on TV. I always dreamed of singing in Viña del Mar and in 2019 that dream came true.”

2. Fiesta de la Confluencia – 2020 (Neuquén, Argentina)

“No one told me how big the crowd would be. When I got to the festival there were over 200 thousand people. I was in awe of the size of the crowd and how they all sang all the lyrics of my songs.”

3.  Latin Grammy performance with Halsey “My Only One” – 2018 (Las Vegas, US)

“This was one of the most unexpected performances ever. When it was confirmed that Halsey and I would be performing together we were both very excited. We had a great time working together, hope to work with her again.”

4. Jonas Brothers Concert performance “Runaway” – 2019 (Miami, US)

“I had such a blast on stage with the Jonas Brothers. This was the first time we all performed the song together live and the Miami audience was so amped.”

5. Yatra Yatra Tour – 2019 (Medellin, Colombia)

“Medellin is my hometown. This is the place my family calls home and to be able to perform a sold-out concert for the first time in the most historical venue of our city, the feeling was simply indescribable.”

6. Auditorio Nacional – 2019 (Mexico City, Mexico)

“This was my first of 4 sold outs in the Auditorio Nacional in less than a year. Such a historic venue where so many legends have played before so stepping on that stage for the first time was huge. The love and passion of my fans in Mexico gives me so much joy.”

7. “Devuélveme El Corazón & Robarte Un Beso” – Latin Grammys 2017 (US)

“The nerves were crazy performing for the first time for Latin Grammys. Was so grateful to share this memory with my friend Carlos Vives.”

8.  Maná concert performance “No Ha Parado De Llover” – 2019 (Los Angeles, US)

“I am a huge fan of Maná, so to have this opportunity to join them on stage at their concert in Los Angeles was great! After this day we released a new version of the song “No Ha Parado De Llover” which is the song we sang on stage that day.”

9. UEFA Champions League Festival – 2019 (Madrid, Spain)

“This is one of my favorite performances because it was right in the middle of one of the most important plazas in Madrid, Plaza del Sol, and people inundated it like never before. We had such a blast celebrating the UEFA Champions League final.”
