CharlestheFirst (Charles Ingalls) has really made a name for himself after first emerging in 2014 and is continuing to grow in popularity. The Lake Tahoe born producer grew up heavily inspired by the Sierra Nevada mountain range and showcases that vibe within his music and story telling abilities. Charles uses a field recorder to capture the sounds of natures and you can hear those sounds all throughout his music, especially in the new song “For Now.” His music invites the listener too a fully immersive experience for all listeners, keeping you wanting more.

“For Now” opens with a subtle piano, letting the listener know it’s a softer approach in production. This track is unique to his signature bass style because the song deliver vocals from Charles himself. His vocals are soft hitting, auto-tuned bars that narrate an introspective storyline. The downtempo, lush backing production emotes a healing, ethereal soundscape with beautiful and simple beats. His lyrics like “You can leave me here for now, I’ll keep my head above the water for you” really hit home being that they’re so relatable and catchy. This track symbolizes a coming out of the dark in both a personal and creative sense for his talented producer.
