Coral Gables Unveils Inaugural Album, ‘Still Alive’

Ushering in a fresh wave of sound to the realm of music, Coral Gables has dropped his monumental debut album, Still Alive. Consisting of ten completely unique tracks, this compilation blends a variety of genres and musical influences, such as TV On The Radio, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Kate Bush, and more. Additionally, Coral Gables weaves in infectious Latin soundscapes from his Cuban background to put listeners in an auditory trance. The LP’s lead single, “Hugo”, encompasses chilling lyrics and lush guitar melodies. Another standout is “100 Fires”, which boasts a rock-centric beat filled with electrifying percussion and riveting vocals.

Explaining his perspective and inspiration behind the album, Coral Gables states, “’Still Alive’ is my way of processing the past and creating a new path for my life. Leading up to 2019, I had several difficult life circumstances: unemployment, an empty bank account, family disagreements, fickle friends, and religious abuse by people and institutions – and then the pandemic hit in 2020. I made the decision during the pandemic to write and record an album that describes my journey through loss, suffering, and acceptance.”

In its entirety, Still Alive takes its audience on an introspective adventure through different sonic vibes and levels of energy. This ground-breaking project is just the beginning of Coral Gables’ artistic career and his one-of-a-kind style.
