CXLOE and gnash’s Powerful New Anthem ‘SICK’ Is Here

Sydney’s CXLOE has honed her unique flavour of edgy dark pop and now she is leading the next wave of Australian music exports across the Atlantic. With each of her carefully crafted releases, she’s been steadily gaining global attention. Today she’s back with “SICK”, a duet with none other than hit singer-songwriter and rapper gnash.

Premiered on coveted Australian tastemaker radio network Triple J, it is without a doubt among her best work. ‘SICK’ comes after fan favourites ‘Monster’, ‘Low Blow’ and ‘I Can’t Have Nice Things’ which have claimed her support from the likes of Clash, Billboard and Idolator. In the process, garnering her an impressive 22 million streams – only more evidence of her rapidly growing audience.

CXLOE‘s collaborator gnash grew to mass awareness with ‘I hate u, i love you’, a track which now boasts over a billion streams worldwide. He’s grown a cult following thanks to his four-part album series, the latest of which “We” came out this year. CXLOE now sits alongside a very talented list of Artists gnash has worked with, among them, Imad Royal, Mark Johns and Vancouver Sleep Clinic.

“SICK” is a unique heartbreak anthem featuring CXLOE’s signature dark lyrics, complemented by well-placed verses from gnash that add an additional layer of complexity but don’t steal the show. The song feels like CXLOE’s take on the feelings of unrequited love.

CXLOE explains regarding the single, “The song ‘SICK’ is about loving too much and never wanting to show it. Never having that middle ground or normalcy within yourself because your emotions are extremes of each other. Sometimes we want to be showered in affection and jewels and dinners, and sometimes we just want that raw emotion of feeling sick over someone, like an obsession. That pit of your stomach sick.”

‘SICK’ is just one more signal that CXLOE is setting the stage for global pop domination.
