Dom Dolla Drops First 2021 Single ‘Pump The Brakes’

With an average of just one single per year, Dom Dolla may be gifting us with more in 2021 after spending 2020 largely in the studio. First up is ‘Pump The Brakes’, a perfect representation of Dom Dolla’s sound.

The catchy vocal over the drop has become a staple for Dom as he continues that with his newest, in this instance the vocal pays homage to his much loved and beat up first car. The punchy house beat is also back with memorable melody. Dom Dolla has definitely opted for the “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” mentality and so he should. The track is always on its way to success, included in many of the new music Friday DSP playlists.

Dom shares “I produced this record specifically to play at the Shrine in LA in early 2020 (which turned out to be a few weeks before the world shut down). It was written as a tongue in cheek story partly inspired by my first car, an old Camry that collects dust in Melbourne while I’m away on tour. I wasn’t sure what to do with the record when dance floors paused around the world. But I’ve received requests for it every other day since. All things considered, I figured it’s probably time to get it out there into the world. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed giving it a rev on the dance floor”.
