BRIT and GRAMMY Award-nominated DJ Jax Jones has teamed up with the amazing Au/Ra to deliver their new single; ‘i miss u’. Best known for her single; ‘Panic Room’, the 18-year-old is adding another certified banger to her ever-expanding back catalogue with the help of one of the UK’s best-ever-selling dance acts.
Kicking off with a rather melancholic vibe, Au/Ra’s crisp, reverb-soaked vocals paired with the subtle monotonous synth in the background, combine to create an equally-suspenseful atmosphere too, setting the stage for the chorus. In classic Jax Jones fashion, the minimalist production delivers an infectious groove that personifies the house music sound currently dominating radio waves.
Unlike many of his singles, especially on his ‘Snacks’ album, Jones‘ signature “Whatcha whatcha gonna do” phrase doesn’t appear on the track. Up until now, the voice of the phrase has been largely speculated, however, recently, it was revealed that the voice behind the iconic phrase is MNEK, which was revealed by the man himself.
