Madeon Unveils Melancholic New Single ‘The Prince’

French maestro Madeon is unquestionably a generational talent and his new single ‘The Prince’ only further solidifies that statement. Whilst its official release is today, the single has been doing its rounds for quite some time now. Having notably appeared in his Secret Sky Festival livestream, fans have been eagerly awaiting the day they’ve been able to play ‘The Prince’ on repeat!

Starting out as dark & mysterious, the signature Madeon vocal processing instantly hits the ear, while the bass, and gentle harp in the foreground encompass the listener in a world of wonder. Ascending chord progressions and pads, further add to the song’s gradual progression, unrelentingly luring in and hooking listeners.

Madeon shares: “The Prince” is the first song I completed for my album “Good Faith” but it didn’t make the final tracklist, I thought it was thematically too dark. Years later, a few months ago, I performed a live-streamed set for my friend Porter Robinson’s online festival ‘Secret Sky’.”

“I remembered “The Prince” and spontaneously decided to play it out for the first time during that show. That moment is now a truly cherished memory of mine! I never intended to release it, but the enthusiasm from fans convinced me, so here it is! It’s a bit of a darker prologue to Good Faith, hope you have fun with it.”

Still enjoying the success of his Good Faith album, which saw its release in November last year, Madeon’s masterful musical abilities earned his sophomore album the #1 spot on the Billboard Top Dance/Electronic Albums. However, now, it’s time to turn the focus to his latest single.
