Last Month, the fabled Miami Winter Music Conference announced its first round of programming for the 2020 iteration. The conference enters its 35th year with tons of excitement for its keynote speakers and activations.
To bring anticipation to 2020, WMC has announced GRAMMY-nominated duo Sofi Tukker, YouTube’s Global Head of Music Lyor Cohen, and Ultra Music Founder Patrick Moxey as keynote speakers. The three will bring insights into their respective fields, what the future holds as we move into another decade, and ideas based around WMC’s four pillars: music, technology, education, and culture.
This year’s WMC will take place on March 16 thru 19 at The Faena Forum. In addition to the keynote speakers, there will be conversations with artists Barbara Tucker, Carl Craig, Josh Wink, Roger Sanchez, Seth Troxler, Tommie Sunshine, and Sydney Blu. There will also be new additions to the conference based around the four pillars previously mentioned. These include:
Signed On The Spot – a new type of fireside chat inviting aspiring artists and producers to submit their original demos for a chance to be discovered and signed by leading international electronic music labels. Spotlighting four diverse genres: Bass, Techno, House, and Dance.
Exhibition Hall – featuring a dedicated stage with immersive classroom sessions hosted by education & gear partners, the latest product demos, hands-on tutorials, and live performances.
Mentor Sessions – inviting the industry’s brightest minds and forward-thinking creators to gather for thought-provoking discussions hosted by artists like Josh Wink and Sydney Blu, professionals like Pandora’s Andrew Marcogliese, Beatport’s Jonas Tempel, Little Empire’s Stephanie LaFera, SBE’s Kozmoe Alonzo, Falcon PR’s Alexandra Greenberg and more.
The MMW Oasis – the MMW Oasis will run in conjunction with WMC and serve as the new social hub hosted at the Generator Miami, just one block south of WMC HQ. MMW Oasis will present five days of private poolside parties, cocktail hours, yoga sessions, workshops, and industry networking events.
