Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 Press Pictures Leak

Notable leaker Evan Blass has showcased a number of new images of the upcoming successor to the Samsung Galaxy Fold.

In advance of the Galaxy Z Fold 2’s expected official announcement next week at Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event on August 5, Evan has published a number of high-res product renders that have given us the clearest look yet at Samsung’s next foldable phone.

Twitter leaker Riccolo cited a 2,000-euro price tag, which converts to roughly $2,260, £1,790 or AU$3,230 — or about $1,880 if you knock off European sales tax, which is always baked into the price there. While Samsung may adjust prices per market, it would be surprising to see a more advanced Galaxy Z Fold 2 come in at less than the original Galaxy Fold’s $1,980 asking price. For reference, the ultraportable Galaxy Z Flip costs $1,380, and the 5G version will cost $1,450.

Including the Galaxy Z Fold 2, Samsung is up to a total of five new devices, which is a lot more than what it typically releases during its bi-annual Unpacked showcases. But with Covid-19 having already forced the cancellation of a number of big tradeshows, it probably makes more sense for Samsung to have one big event instead of a number of smaller announcements.
