Martin Garrix has had a productive few months considering the current pandemic situation, he’s continuously set the bar high with his widely viewed live streams and teased a lot of new music along the way. His latest two streams included a stunning set from the back of a boat and from the top of A’DAM tower – his home cities biggest building. For many fans, however, it was the first live set captured on his stunning rooftop view in Amsterdam that has been the favourite. During this set, high above the ground he ironically premiered his highly anticipated new track “Higher Ground” which features acclaimed vocalist John Martin and now it’s available for all to listen in full quality everywhere via STMPD.
John Martin is a perfect pick, he’s highly selective when it comes to his work, yet he is still one of the most well known EDM Vocalists. His stand out vocal performances includes iconic tracks such as Swedish House Mafia’s global hits “Don’t You Worry Child” and “Save The World” as well as the Sebastian Ingrosso & Tommy Trash club favourite “Reload”. On his new feature with Garrix, he is no doubt set to continue his hit-making streak.
“Higher Ground” kicks off with subtle production that reminds of a clock ticking before Martin’s vocals power in with a very relatable lyric during the quarantine time “All This Time Keeps Fading, Feeling Trapped Inside”. The vocals power sets the tone for Garrix to demonstrate his melodic prowess, before kicking into his high octane, energy inducing drop. “Higher Ground” will no doubt be in heavy demand from Garrix’s fans when the young star hits the road again in the future. In all, it’s a perfect combination of the two highly regarded artists and was well worth the wait.
