The Weeknd Drops ‘Dawn FM’ Album Including Swedish House Mafia & Calvin Harris Productions

The incredible anticipation for The Weeknd’s next project has come to this. Dawn FM is now here in all its glory. Fans were given a taste of the album with ‘Take My Breath’ back in August and now the 16 track album has arrived.

The Weeknd and co flirted with the idea of releasing the album over new years and have now gone through with it. It certainly is not the best time to release music into the world, given the radio and DSP world is not in full operation yet, but does that really matter when you’re The Weeknd?

Recent collaborators Swedish House Mafia are behind one of the best tracks on the album ‘Sacrifice’ in terms of production, whilst they are credited as writers under ‘How Do I Make You Love Me?’. Calvin Harris produced the Lil Wayne feature; ‘I Heard You’re Married’.

Adding to the narrative of the album, Jim Carrey and Quincy Jones are heard throughout.

‘Dawn FM’ arrives alongside a special “livestream experience” accompanying the release. It is set to begin at 12am EST time on the Amazon Music channel on Twitch and in the Amazon Music app, ‘103.5 Dawn FM’ will be broadcast by The Weeknd from “somewhere in Los Angeles”.

“The power of the ‘103.5 Dawn FM’ experience is that maximum fulfilment comes when all who hear it are tuned in at the same time,” The Weeknd explained in a statement about the online event.

Since releasing After Hours in 2020, the Weeknd has shared “Take My Breath,” “Tears in the Club” (with FKA Twigs), “La Fama” (with Rosalía), “One Right Now” (with Post Malone), and the posthumous Aaliyah song “Poison.”
