Congratulations are in order for Tiësto and now wife; Annika Backes. The ceremony took place in the middle of the Utah Desert specifically at the desert resort Amangiri, which telling from the pictures taken by Vogue – was an incredible location.
Tiësto (real name: Tijs Verwest) and Backes — who has already changed her Instagram handle to @AnnikaVerwest — have been dating since 2015 and got engaged during thanksgiving 2017.
They were married on Saturday, accompanied by 80 friends and family. They rented the entire resort! Tiësto had many friends from the music industry.
DJ Coleman then amped things up by surprising the bride and playing an original song that Tijs had written and produced. “One of my favorite parts of the evening was hearing the song Tijs made for me,” Annika says. “It’s called ‘A Million Years,’ and I was completely surprised—it was so much fun to dance together for the first time [to this song], and everyone loved it!”
