Showing out for her home city of London, Ulrika Berg has burst onto the music scene with her debut album, Ulrika Berg. Titling the compilation her name is a simple yet powerful statement. This R&B 10-track LP highlights her wide base of talents, including singing, songwriting, and producing. Boosting the auditory bliss of the project, Ulrika teamed up with David Gerrish to co-write and produce it.
Starting off the inaugural album with a bang is “Stay Queen”. The tantalizing track embodies soft vocals from Ulrika and beautiful piano progressions. Another standout has got to be “I Got You”, which features a slow-tempo beat and resonating percussion. Ulrika Berg also adds a brand-new single, “Do You Want It”, to Ulrika’s dynamic library of originals. This song is layered with delicate hi-hats and references Ulrika’s roots in Stockholm, Sweden.
Although these three anthems are extremely catchy, the rest of Ulrika Berg is just as amazing. Each track brings something unique to the table, such as groovy guitar melodies and lush basslines. Sharing her perspective on the LP, Ulrika says, “I feel colors and seasons when I write music, and this album is summer to me – like a warm breeze in the morning, wind in my hair, feel the ocean on my skin.” Her quote optimally sums up the essence of Ulrika Berg, which is sure to be followed by more hypnotic releases.
