Blink-182 Drops First Song In 10 Years With Tom Delonge, ‘Edging’, Along With Thrilling Music Video

One of the most monumental acts in the history of punk rock, Blink-182 has made an emphatic return with their first Tom DeLonge single in 10 years. Reuniting with the founding member Tom Delonge, after their 2012 EP Dogs Eating Dogs, the renowned band delivers “Edging” to their diehard fanbase. Discussing the theme of the track, drummer Travis Barker shares, “I wanted to imagine as a listener what I wanted to experience and at the same time as a band member what we wanted to make and say and most importantly how it would sound production wise in 2022.”

While the band had released albums and toured with Alkaline Trio’s Matt Skiba from 2016 to 2019, they were without DeLonge, who spent a lot of his time diving into the world of conspiracy theories, aliens, and UFOs, while also nurturing his other band Angels & Airwaves. In 2021, lead guitarist Matt Hoppus was diagnosed with cancer. The trio got together before Hoppus’ chemotherapy and once he became cancer-free they decided to join forces once again.

Coming back into the rock scene in style, “Edging” is an explosive single that features guitar-shredding from Hoppus, drum-smashing from Barker, and infectious vocals from DeLonge. The song is complemented by an invigorating music video, that takes its audience on a crazy trip through a rock-filled carnival.

From giant dancing bunnies to a massive fire-breathing clown head, this video encompasses a ton of surprises. At one point you can see DeLonge juggling and suddenly Barker is going off on the drums while riding the Ferris wheel. There’s nothing better than seeing a historic band reconvene after a long hiatus. Blink-182 does this in the most intriguing fashion with their “Edging” visual production.
