Call of Duty Celebrates 50th Anniversary of Hip-Hop With Open Verse Challenge & New Operators

Call of Duty is commemorating the 50th Anniversary of Hip-Hop in its characteristic fashion – with full-fledged enthusiasm! The recurring sound effects within video games echo ceaselessly in the minds of players, becoming an integral part of their subconscious. Recognizing this phenomenon, Call of Duty wholeheartedly embraced the concept and crafted a unique hip-hop-infused composition. This distinctive track amalgamates various in-game sound effects from the Call of Duty universe, culminating into an awe-inspiring war-themed musical piece.

The song is brought to life through the brand’s first ever Open Verse Challenge on the Call of Duty TikTok featuring a unique beat sync video and invited creators ZaehdFlawless and Kenny to drop a verse.

This initiative represents just a single facet of the numerous methods through which Call of Duty is honoring the 50-year legacy of Hip-Hop. In recent weeks, the team unveiled exciting news, introducing Snoop Dogg and Nicki Minaj as fresh operators for Season 05. Notably, Nicki will become the first female Operator in Call of Duty’s history to bear her own self-identifying title. Additionally, rapper 21 Savage is also set to debut as an operator later this month.
