Watch ‘Living Undocumented’ Selena Gomez Executive Produced Netflix Special

Netflix has premiered its new docu-series today called ‘Living Undocumented’ which was executive produced by none other than Selena Gomez. Yesterday Gomez made headlines when she penned a powerful essay about US immigration crisis. In 2017 she was approached for this series and she has been quite vocal about her concerns around the current administrations’ dealings with vulnerable immigrants ever since.

The six-part series centres on the story eight unique stories including among them Luiz Diaz, his partner Kenia and their son Noah. ICE detained his pregnant partner after being pulled over in a traffic stop as it was revealed both her and Noah had deportation orders against them. In 2012 Luiz arrived in the USA from Honduras on his own when he was just 15 years old and he embarked a month-long journey to cross the border. As we see in the first episode while dropping Noah to ICE to join with his mother the agents trick him into walking into the centre where she is detained so that he could say goodbye.

Gomez said of the series she wanted to “shine a light on immigrant families in the US from different countries and backgrounds, all facing possible deportation.”

You can stream the series now on Netflix: https://www.netflix.com/title/80216500
