Amy Thomson Leaves Swedish House Mafia As Manager

0

Swedish House Mafia Manger Amy Thomson has announced that she will be leaving as their Manager at the end of summer, which, if they are being precise is September 1st. After being their manager for quite some time, the ATM Artists boss has called it quits and will no longer be at the helm of the SHM ship. She posted a long message on Instagram along with a recent quote from Steve Angello announcing that Swedish House Mafia are getting back into the studio. You can read her entire transcript below.

Thanks for all the messages I got hit with about this. But I guess now is the time to say that in May this year I told the boys I would be leaving end of summer 2018. In this industry people expect you to stay in projects that make you powerful. Ego. Pride. Power. Money. All of that. But for me I have learned that life changes you and what you want to do with that gift is a gift in itself. It was a big decision after 14 years but one I made for myself. I wish them so much joy and happiness and success and I will be watching proudly but the era of me with the boys is at an end. And what an era it was. We changed the game so many times through everything from brave hearts to sheer blindness. What a ride. But for me life’s changed now. The future belongs to a new set of people around them and I wish them luck with all my heart. And I suppose telling people in this way is not very CEO of me. But that’s not who I am. My passion got me here not a boardroom. Thank you to everyone who helped us. Who put up with us. The fans who stayed with us. We made history. But most of all to my daughter who shared me with this crazy ride without ever complaining. We Came. We Raved. I Loved it. Thank you so much. Amy x

Avicii Co-Producer Confirms New Avicii Music To Be Released

0

Known Avicii co-producer, Carl Falk has posted on Instagram a video of him applying the finishing touches to unreleased Avicii’s song ‘Heaven’ which features Chris Martin of Coldplay. Carl Falk could potentially be working on the record to prepare it for release.

Here’s what Carl Falk has to say: “Yesterday was a strange and emotional day in many ways trying to finishing these songs. It’s not the same producing without you by my side. I miss you hanging over my shoulder doubting every little thing and detail in the song. #avicii #heaven ❤️”

This news has excited many fans who are hopeful for Avicii’s unreleased music to see the light of day. Heaven which has been circulated in live videos previously is a very touching track and will definitely create an emotional release. As with all artist’s music post death however, there is always a debate on whether it is the correct thing to do by said artist.

We would hope if there is a release, that it’s proceeds go towards some kind of charity to help provide more artists and people the support in mental health. This would be a fitting reason to have this music see the light as an official release.. However, Avicii’s family must have provide consent to release Avicii’s final works.

The World’s Highest-Paid DJs Of 2018

0

It’s that time of the year again where Forbes releases their list of the highest paid DJ’s. There are no major surprises here, with the more commercial orientated artist taking in the highest earnings. With Calvin Harris and The Chainsmokers taking in 48 and 45.5 Million dollars due to their domination when it comes to radio friendly dance music.

Changes from last year include artists such as Skrillex, Deadmau5, Hardwell, Armin Van Buuren and Alesso not being listed. One must assume these guys have not had their best year financially comparing with previous years. Overall, DJ’s annual take seems to have decreased, with Forbes blaming this on the “plateau of the live electronic music market”.

1. Calvin Harris – $48 Million
2. The Chainsmokers – $45.5 Million
3. Tiësto – $33 Million
4. Steve Aoki – $28 Million
5. Marshmello – $23 Million
6. Zedd – $22 Million
7. Diplo – $20 Million
8. David Guetta – $15 Million
9. Kaskade – $13.5 Million
10. Martin Garrix – $13 Million
11. Axwell Λ Ingrosso – $12 Million
12. Kygo – $11.5 Million
13. DJ Snake – $11 Million
14. Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike – $10.5 Million
15. Afrojack – $10 million

[EDIT] Martin Garrix Shares Avicii Tattoo

0

Edit: We have since come to know that the tattoo is in fact not Martin Garrix, it is a fellow producer who actually co-produced his latest track.

Martin Garrix has just revealed a tattoo in dedication to his good friend, the late Avicii. Posted on his Instagram story yesterday, it’s no surprise that Martin would find a permanent way to remember his good friend Avicii.

The tattoo is a mix of Avicii’s signature logo and his trademark hand gesture that was a staple in almost every track he played in his sets. The iconic hand movement is something that made Avicii very special. The way he played the piano with his fingers to the melodies of his music really expressed Avicii’s passion for music and became a feature in his performances.  It’s not the first Avicii tattoo that a fellow artist has had done, Kygo recently got one inked onto his wrist.

Martin Garrix Releases “High On Life”

0

‘High On Life’ is a gorgeous piano-based ballad that has a thoughtfulness about it rarely found in productions of today. Vocalist Bonn adds a true depth to this track, with silky smooth tones that blend perfectly. As I was predicting that “High On Life” would be another track that would end in a future bass breakdown, I was pleasantly surprised he did what he arguably does best – euphoric progressive house.

Sebastian Ingrosso Brings Out Axwell & Salvatore Ganacci During His Solo Set

0

During Sebastian Ingrosso’s set on the ‘Freedom’ stage at Tomorrowland, he brought out his “two best friends in the world” Axwell and Salvatore Ganacci during ‘Reload’. It was too little surprise to see his parter Axwell come up to play some of their tracks. However, when Salvatore came out with them both, it seemed like Swedish House Mafia 2.0!

Axwell also took the opportunity to troll the crowd, asking the crowd who was missing, teasing a potential SHM Tomorrowland reunion. Whilst the crowd was hoping for Steve Angello to pop out, Sebastian Ingrosso yelled “CRISTIANO FKN RONALO”. A funny statement that Axwell did back in 2016.

You can view the new Swedish House Mafia on the YouTube video below, as well as Axwell and Ingrosso trolling the crowds in 2016 and at Tomorrowland just recently.
