PNAU Returns with New Single 'Solid Gold' Featuring Kira Divine and Marques Toliver

Australia’s electronic legends PNAU are back today with new music, they traditionally left us hanging for half a decade between releases, however their game-changing album ‘Changa’ switched things up and today they continue that trend with the release of a grooving new single ‘Solid Gold’.

The new record features Kira Divine the voice of the hits ‘Chameleon’ and ‘Go Bang’, and Florida’s Marques Toliver, both of whom wrote the song together with the band in LA. It’s a banger built to soundtrack good times but, Littlemore says, it’s also about “the love of a best friend and being able to depend on people”.

The hit making trio Nick Littlemore, Peter Mayes and Sam Littlemore are no stranger to being featured on or behind some of the biggest songs collectively or on their own, but unquestionably when they team up we always get something really special.

They first teased ‘Solid Gold’ during their packed main-stage set at last year’s Splendour in the Grass and now with three upcoming dates across Australia we know fans are going to be chanting along to this instant anthem.

On writing the song with Marques the Little more was quoted as saying “We’d never even met before, but he stayed with us in our house here and we worked crazy hours making all of this music […] He’s so energetic and full of ideas”. Meanwhile although they had worked with Kira before it was a different dynamic as she was writing something from scratch together, she knows how the band sounds melodically and Littlemore says “It was a really exciting moment for us to have worked with her as a session singer and then to have her come in and melodically add so much,” .

“With dance music there’s still infinite possibilities creatively,” Littlemore says and we could agree more. Its out now via etcetc, listen to it below on Spotify! Or check it out on other platforms here

Australian Duo Set Mo Impress on Debut Album 'Surrender'
SetMo-Surrender

Set Mo aka Nick Drabble and Stu Turner are here to brighten up your week. This Friday marks one of the biggest days in their career yet, and it’s off to a great start as they top the iTunes electronic album charts on release of their dabut album ‘Surrender’. Their 16 track album opens with title song featuring a unique contribution from legendary producer Brian Eno - who the duo have admired on both a musical and personal level, the combination of their spacey ambient production and Eno’s soothing spoken word sets the tone for the album with a warm inviting introduction.

In all ‘Surrender’ see’s the duo bringing together and fluid body of work that makes sense together, they have been assisted on the record by collaborators such as Asta, AJ Wright (Cloud Control), Woodes, Thandi Phoenix, Happiness Is Wealth and Scott Quinn. The previously unreleased is Counter Human ft. Woodes is one of five new songs made available with it’s release and we’re betting it will be a crowd favourite over the months to come.

This duo have been paving the way for sometime forming initially in 2012, however only started producing later. They were first introduced to the masses thanks to their single “White Dress” featuring Deutsch Duke after signing to one of the countries leading labels. In 2017 they opted to take their music independent rather than stick to a traditional label deal, and have kept up a continuous flow of vibrant releases ever since. The first of those was “I Belong Here” featuring talented Woodes which picked up a huge swell of support and clocked up millions of streams. Set Mo’s 2018 touring schedule was a marathon with almost 60 dates in 2018 and rounding off in style with Your Paradise in Fiji, Falls Festival in Lorne and Rhythm & Vines in New Zealand.

Surrender is available now on all platforms, stream it on Spotify below.

What So Not To Play House Partys Across Australia During Laneway
CULTR-Article-Banner.jpg

Over the past few years Sydney’s backwards lock out laws have led to many of the city’s most famous nightclub hotspots shutting their doors, one of the recent victims last December was the iconic World Bar which was been a launching pad for some of the greatest talents.

So in response, What So Not - who frequented the Sydney venue regularly for surprise sets to test his new music decided to put the word out to his fans and find some local house parties to rinse some fresh new music. The video which can be seen below captures the Skrillex collaborator hitting 7 house parties in his home city. Among the madness he even attempts to DJ on an old pair of CDJ 400’s and a couple of iPhones, the concept took off with hundreds of invited flooding in.

Now he’s announced during his Laneway tour, he’s going to take the concept on the road around the country for an unofficial after party series at each stop. With any possibility open, if you think you can throw a house party worthy of What So Not gracing your decks for you and all your friends head over to Facebook here and drop your proposal.

7 House Parties, 1 Night (The Perfect Storm)

CALLING ALL GOOD TIME ENTHUSIASTS Last month (Disgruntled by lockouts & venue closes) I went around My home town & played 7 house parties in one night. Now, as promised we are now taking things interstate I'm looking to crash a birthday, house party, rooftop, backyard shed (show me what you got Aus) as a very unofficial laneway after party on each stop of the tour. Simply comment the resume for your party below inc. city, suburb, equipment specs, hype (and have your mates like the post so I know you’re legit).

Sneaking in at the tail end of last year, Australia’s Hermitude graced us with the release of ‘Stupid World’ and today we excitedly saw a new remix drop from Holland based GANZ, this new take hits all the right spots, delivering a playable club version that will no doubt help it reach a new life as it continues to grow momentum online. The record features Def Jam signed German-American hit songwriter Bibi Bourelly, who was responsible Rihanna’s hit ‘Bitch Better Have My Money’ and has previously featured on records from Usher and Jacob Banks in recent times.

GANZ takes the reins on ‘Stupid World’, injecting some of his signature club ready spice with a crafty remix that builds around magical bass, wavy synths, all supporting Bibi’s masterful vocal delivery. GANZ picked up acclaim previously for his rework of Flume’s Remix of Hermitude’s ‘Hyperpardise’ - which now boasts nearly 5 milllion streams. The Dutch based producer also recently dropped a full EP titled ‘Skin In The Game’ through Dim Mak, which is some of his best work to date.

The return of Hermitude to new music with ‘Stupid World’ has us excited, their releases hint at a journey into new territories for their creative process so we are hopeful we will see an album out sometime this year. This remix will however definitely keep us occupied for now.

Stream GANZ’s remix for ‘Stupid World’ below via ‘Elefant Tracks’ or along with a remix from Daktyl Here on Spotify.
