Don Diablo is here with another fresh dance release. Teaming up with Zak Abel, the track is the perfect blend of electronic music and pop – allowing for a wide listenership.

The infectious indie house sound is stitched together with quality soaring vocals from Zak Abel. The track comes together to result in a record that will work both on the dance floor and the radio, at the moment it may just be the latter…

Released on his own label Hexagon, the track is also licensed to major label Universal, which will assist in casting a wide net of the world and getting the track the attention it deserves.

“Bad is a cheeky track about guilty pleasures, which we can all relate to in one way or another. Musically speaking I really wanted to explore different sounds and push my own sonic boundaries as well as a producer.” Don Diablo explains, “..Bad is co-written with the super talented Elderbrook and features the vocal talent of Zak Abel, both have been high on my collaboration wishlist for years. I literally had the best time recording the vocals in my studio in Amsterdam with Zak and I look forward to performing the song together live for the first time very soon.”

Martin Garrix Releases ‘Drown’ Together With Clinton Kane

0

Two months into 2020, Martin Garrix is here with his first of the decade, teaming up with relatively up and coming artist Clinton Kane – in which Martin has teased multiple collaborations.

‘Drown’ sees Martin opt from the commercial route, with stand out songwriting and vocals, the Dutchman has another hit on his hands. The fresh guitar mixed with Martin Garrix’s electronic sounds makes for a catchy instrumental that is a perfect pedestal for the vocals. The overall record is more stripped-down than some of Garrix’s other musical endeavours. ‘Drown’ leans heavily into vocals and guitar, not a massive drop.

Kane’s emotive vocals offer great depth to this winning collaboration and are a perfect fit with Garrix’ style. Once again Garrix’s knack for working with brilliant vocalists from all over the world is proven, this will definitely be a key moment in Clinton Kane’s career.

Martin Garrix: “Making this track with my friend Clinton Kane was amazing! He is crazy talented, and we get along very well making the studio sessions loads of fun! I’m really happy with the end result.”

Clinton Kane: “Martin is such a warm human and a mad talent. It was heaps of fun writing and working with him on this track. We actually only met after the song was fully finished due to logistical issues and volcanic eruptions. Thank god for technology! Love him to death.”

Nicky Romero Unveils Pop Friendly Love Song ‘Stay’

0

Nicky Romero has two sides to him musically, it’s either an massive dance record meant for the biggest festivals around the world, or, in this case – a record that focused more on pop and vocal focused release.

Both styles are impressive from the Dutch producer, that is evident with his newest offering; ‘Stay’. Nicky Romero has successfully delved into the pop world with tracks such as ‘Distance’ and ‘Sometimes’.

Romero trades in driving basslines and big-room synths for gently undulating instrumentals and a gently progressive drop in the new track. The Protocol label head pairs the dreamy melodies with emotive vocals, producing lines like “why don’t we stay, and not get older like we’re supposed to” that evoke the nostalgia of youthful romance.

Last year, Khalid and Disclosure collaborated on ‘Talk’, which earned them a Grammy nomination for Record of the Year. The song was also featured on Khalid’s second album Free Spirit. The successful and talented trio are back with the sophomore collaboration; ‘Know Your Worth’.

This new one is the third single from Khalid’s upcoming third studio project following ‘Up All Night’ and ‘Eleven’ and finds the R&B star’s opening falsetto floating over soft Caribbean-inspired keys until the bass and drums uplifts on the chorus.

“When I started writing this song, it was like I was singing to myself in the mirror,” Khalid revealed on Zane Lowe’s World Record on Apple Music during the single’s debut. “I feel like the message in this song is something that I needed to hear at the time I was writing it and I hope that it resonates with a lot of people who need to hear that kind of message.”

UK house duo Disclosure have been on a semi-hiatus recently, with the only track releasing in 2019 being the first Khalid partnership. 2020 seems like the right time to grace the airwaves with their quality, hopefully ‘Know Your Worth’ is the kick starter.

Louis The Child Invite Naomi Wild And Couros On Sentimental ‘Here Comes A Feeling’

0

Few artists can claim to have crafted such a signature, inimitable and well-known sound as Louis The Child – a duo who have almost redefined the span of the genre of future bass. Their lush, spacious soundscapes and dynamic, ever-changing rhythms are innovative and irrevocably catchy.

A prime example of this comes in the form of their newest single, a collaboration with Naomi Wild and Couros on ‘Here Comes A Feeling’. It’s a sombre tune focusing on raw vocals and their innovative derivatives.

Opening boldly with a collection of vocal chops, slow and melancholy verses prelude similarly-sounding instrumental sections. A jazzy mix of layers of vocal chops, pads and chords is soon developed, giving way to some experimental rhythms in the latter part of the song.

Louis The Child describe this tune in a promo caption on Instagram as a ‘beat that felt experimental and like controlled chaos’. They conclude by saying it’s ‘one of [their] favorite songs they’ve ever made’ and we couldn’t agree more.

Give this tune a listen and find yourself transported to the mystical landscape depicted on the cover for this tune.

The Chainsmokers Release Solo Vocal Hit ‘Push My Luck’

0

American duo turned trio The Chainsmokers are back with a brand new, dance-pop record. They’ve released infectious single after infectious single, with their last track ‘Takeaway’ with ILLENIUM released in July; ‘Push My Luck’ proves that they have little chance of breaking their streak anytime soon.

Featuring solo vocals from Drew, the track is keeps a chill, mellow vibe focused around the vocals, until the end, where an electronic and catchy drop rounds out the release. A pacifying guitar riff draws out a constant melodic motif, as the lyrics delve far and wide into the nuances of a typical relationship, with one wanting more and having to “push my luck”. The heartfelt vocals perfectly complement the soothing instrumental, the song itself a stark contrast to their trap and dubstep-filled sets. This being their first solo release since ‘Kills You Slowly’ (also among their more mellow tunes), it’s apparent that they wanted to experiment with emotion rather than energy here.

This single joins the ‘World War Joy’ EP, building up to a final album release soon in the coming months, with just four singles left to go. The existing singles are conveniently and cleverly packaged into one EP, so that you can get back into their other recent music through this song.
