Los Angeles

California

The mad thing is I wasn’t originally the biggest fan of LA but I’ve fallen in love with it more and more over the years. The restaurants are incredible and if you’re lucky & get an offer to party at someone’s house in the hills, then take it!!

Ibiza

Spain

It’s always a No.1 go to place for me to party with my friends during the summer. Not only is the nightlife amazing but Old Town is a real mix of old & new with a chilled atmosphere and beautiful restaurants.

Barbados

Carribbean

Barbados has a special place in my heart: I went there as a kid and love the beaches & crystal clear water. Waking up in the morning and finding yourself surrounded by red crabs and swiminning with the turtles is a memory I’ll never forget.

Ferry Corsten Releases The Latest UNITY Collaboration with BT on ‘1997’

0

Ferry Corsten is back with his latest ‘Unity’ collaboration, after releasing the last one with Ilan Bluestone back in December – Ferry has teamed up with BT for a special collaboration in ‘1997‘.

Ferry Corsten has been busy with solo music in the first half of 2019, releasing ‘Freefall‘ – which feels like a more commercially viable release. He also returned to his Gouryella alias with ‘Surga‘.

Ferry Corsten has brought in another big name into the Unity project, with the legend that is BT. After remixing BT’s track ‘Suddenly’ in 2010, the pair are familiar with each other’s prowess in the studio, and that united vision is showcased in abundance. The team-up sees both artists strengths utilised to their best potential to create a track that is greater than the sum of its parts. As it should, the production leans heavily on the killer uplifting melody – which is a prominent throughout the entire track. The mix of each artist’s styles is present and concludes in an epic collaboration.

Ferry launched the UNITY project in 2018 with his collaboration alongside Paul Oakenfold titled ‘A Slice Of Heaven’, and continued working with artists within the Trance community throughout the year, such as DIM3NSION, Jordan Suckley, Saad Ayub and Ilan Bluestone, and after the success of 2018 has more releases in store after making his first donation to project partner, VH1’s Save The Music Foundation, an organisation launched to reinstate music programs in public schools, which to date has raised over $53 million and helped over 2,100 public schools.

You can learn more about the Unity project with our Ferry Corsten Interview.

Kygo Puts A 2020 Spin on Tina Turner’s ‘What’s Love Got to Do with It’

0

Kygo has turned Tina Turner’s 1984 hit ‘What’s Love Got to Do with It’ into a fresh 2020 version, ready for the masses.

Kygo just released his Golden Hour album in late May and he is now back on the airwaves with this new cover. With ‘What’s Love Got to Do with It’, Kygo injects his signature tropical house elements into what is essentially already a hit, turning into something that will strongly resonate with today’s audiences.

On the release, Kygo stated: “I couldn’t be more excited to collaborate with Tina Turner, who is an icon that I grew up listening to. ‘What’s Love Got To Do With It’ is one of my all-time favorite songs so to have a chance to rework it has been a very special moment in my career. I love working around timeless vocals and although it’s challenging to preserve elements of the original track and adding my own touch, I’m extremely happy with how it turned out!”

Turner’s 1984 single ‘What’s Love Got To Do With It’ was the lead track for her fifth solo album, Private Dancer. The album, a seminal release for the singer, won three Grammy Awards, including record of the year, best female pop vocal female and best rock vocal performance, and in 2012, ‘What’s Love Got to Do with It’ was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.

Turner, 80, has previously said she’s happily retired and has no plans to get back to singing and performing. Speaking to the New York Times last year, Turner, who lives in Switzerland, said: “I don’t sing. I don’t dance. I don’t dress up.” At this point in time, it’s not certain whether or not Turner has done anything for the release, the vocals are likely from the original release, now re-packaged for Kygo’s production.

Kygo’s Third Album ‘Golden Hour’ Is Out Now + Livestream Festival Details

Kygo has today dropped his third album, titled ‘Golden Hour’. The Norwegian artist teased the album for a few months with a number of album singles.

On his social media pages, Kygo explained that due to the COVID-19 pandemic he’s had more time to work on music since most of the world is stuck inside.

With heavy hitters such as OneRepublic, Zara Larsson and Whitney Houston on the album, the collection features some incredible talent.

The journey from track 1 to 18 brings a summer, feel good vibe, yet this is nothing new to Kygo’s music. It’s not easy finding a bad track throughout ‘Golden Hour’, with each track containing its own positives. Each record sounds distinctively Kygo, yet each record still has individual elements.

Kygo has evolved his sound from the tropical house era to a more refined sound that traverses both dance music and the commercial space. ‘Golden Hour’ is set to make waves on both fronts.

Upon the release of the album, Kygo said, “Golden Hour is finally out guys 😭 feels surreal dropping all these songs. I’ve been working so hard on this album the last 2 years and I’m so happy and proud of each and every song. The album consists of 18 songs and exactly 1 hour of music. Thank you to all the insanely talented artists I’ve had the chance to work with on this record; hopefully we’ll get the chance to play these songs together live someday soon. And a huge thank you to all my fans who have been supporting me the last couple of years. I hope you enjoy this album as much as I did making it ♥

Accompanying the release, Kygo has announced a live stream festival, falling under the same name as the album.

In addition to electro-pop favorites Alan Walker and Chelsea Cutler, Kygo refreshingly stepped outside the lines of EDM when he fleshed out the lineup for Golden Hour Festival. Also joining him are Zac Brown of Grammy Award-winning country-rock outfit Zac Brown Band, legendary singer-songwriter Jimmy Buffett, and Golden Hour collaborators OneRepublic, among others.

The event will also include a guided meditation, presented in honour of Mental Health Awareness month and, delightfully, a magic show. Lauded tattoo artist Dr. Woo is designing exclusive merchandise for the event, with all profits going to charity. The Golden Hour Festival will also support Baby2Baby, Crew Nation and the World Health Organization’s (WHO) COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund.

The livestream begins at 4PM EST/1PM PST/10PM CEST on Friday. You can watch live here.

Stream Kygo’s newest ‘Golden Hour’ single ‘Lose Somebody’ featuring OneRepublic

Kygo teased fans earlier this week with the track-list of his highly anticipated forthcoming album ‘Golden Hour’, blocking out all of the unreleased collaborators. However, despite trying to keep it secret, many fans had already figured out that ‘Lose Somebody’ was a collaboration with the iconic OneRepublic. Today it has been officially released on streaming platforms at midnight.

The new single will be one of the final tracks to drop from ‘Golden Hour’ before the album is unleashed on the world. The album follows up Kygo’s last major project ‘Kids In Love’ which also included a feature with OneRepublic on the track ‘Stranger Things’.

On their newest collaboration, Kygo offers up a soothing instrumental around an emotionally charged vocal. The song is a sure-fire anthem for anyone who’s walked away from a relationship before realizing they made a mistake, featuring the lyric “Sometimes you gotta lose somebody just to find out you really love them”.

The album will go on pre-order via iTunes today and in addition to OneRepublic, features previously released collaborations with Tyga, Whitney Houston, Zara Larsson, Sasha Sloan and Zak Abel. Over 18 tracks are expected, with many yet to be revealed. Keep an eye on Kygo as he reveals more about the album in the coming weeks/months ahead.

ARTY Returns To Euphoric Prog House With Mighty Conrad Sewell Collaboration, ‘Kingdom’

Fresh off the release of his groovy ‘From Russia With Love Vol. 1‘ EP, progressive house mastermind ARTY is back with a euphoric record for the books. Vocal collaborator Conrad Sewell (the same vocalist on Kygo’s hit, Firestone) lends an anthemic and grandiose feel to ‘Kingdom’, a track that lives up to its name in its exquisite production.

Debuted in his Nocturnal Wonderland virtual set earlier this month, Kingdom captures the quintessential ARTY sound with emotional guitar and bright production, coupling it with some absolutely stellar vocals. Perhaps the highlight of the tune sees Conrad Sewell belting the chorus in his charismatic rasp, singing “If it’s in your heart / If it’s in your bones / Don’t your kingdom turn to stone / What if tomorrow never comes” and kindling a spark in your being. ARTY’s had his hands on this vocal piece for more than a year now, but he’s waited for the right melody to meld it together with. As the energy spreads through your every fibre, ARTY’s signature resplendent soundscape carries you away to melodic heaven.

Kygo Teams Up With Sasha Sloan For ‘I’ll Wait’ Ahead Of New Album ‘Golden Hour’

Norwegian dance icon Kygo continues his winning streak this week adding a brand new collaboration with Sasha Sloan called ‘I’ll Wait’. The release follows ‘Like It Is’ with Swedish pop star Zara Larsson and US Icon Tyga, both trakcs comes off his impending Album “Golden Hour”. The new offering is a meshing of Kygo’s signature melody and Sloans sultry soft vocals.

Sasha Sloan who debut only 3 short years ago has amassed over a hundred million streams, among them “Dancing With A Ghost’, ‘Older’ and features with ODESZA, Kaskade and Megan Trainor. The collaboration reunites Kygo and Sloan who previously worked together on “This Town” for Kygo’s Stargazing EP in 2017.

The song is now available across all streaming platforms and will be featured on Kygo’s upcoming third album Golden Hour out soon via Sony Music International/Ultra Records/RCA Records.

Kygo Releases ‘Like It Is’ With Zara Larsson & Tyga, First Single Off Upcoming Album

0

Norwegian artist Kygo just took the wraps off his upcoming album ‘Golden Hour’ and with that, the first single. Kygo teams up with Zara Larsson and Tyga for a brilliant hit in ‘Like It Is’.

After most recently releasing his Avicii tribute together with Sandro Cavazza, Kygo now takes a more commercial approach – especially with his choice of vocalists. Zara Larsson provides an exciting vocal that Kygo turned into a great melody throughout the drops. Tyga mixes it up with a rap break that fits right in place.

‘Like It Is’ has just raised the already high hype levels for Kygo’s upcoming album, with no release date known at this point – we hope it’s soon!

The good thing about being home all day is that I have a lot of time to work on new music. I hope that you are all doing well and staying positive in these tough times.” – Kygo

Kygo Keeps Avicii Alive With Tribute ‘Forever Yours’ Alongside Sandro Cavassa

0

Today, Avicii’s unfinished and unreleased track ‘Forever Yours’ with Sandro Cavazza was released. This was not possible without Avicii inspired artist Kygo. This must have been very special for Kygo to do, the Norwegian artist is a huge fan of the late artist and even got a tattoo after his passing.

Originally premiered at Ultra in 2016, ‘Forever Yours’ fell into the grouping of Avicii’s unreleased tracks, until today. With Kygo working together with Sandro Cavazza on ‘Happy Now’, the two acts seemingly further worked on the unreleased Avicii track – making today’s release possible. The track was played at Tim’s tribute concert as a tribute by Kygo & Sandro.

One of my biggest dreams was to get in the studio with Tim. Unfortunately we never, you know, got to do that. So when he (Sandro) sent me that song I felt like that was the closest I could get to collaborate with Tim. – Kygo

Universal Music stated; “During a trip across the US in 2016, Sandro Cavazza played Tim an early version of “Forever Yours.” Heading towards Avicii’s show at Ultra Miami, Tim immediately started working on it on the tour bus and played a demo at the festival. The song was never completed or released while Tim was alive, but now Kygo and Sandro have together produced a version to honor his memory.” The artwork further depicts Avicii’s travels through America on his way to Miami, working on music with friends.

After Avicii’s ‘TIM’ album and then multiple remixes from fellow artists, this is the most recent piece of posthumous music we have received and hopefully not the last.

Aligning with Avicii’s posthumous album ‘TIM’, the artists involved have advised that all proceeds from the track will go to the Tim Bergling Foundation in support of mental health awareness and suicide prevention.

Kygo To Release New Version Of Avicii and Sandro Cavazza’s ‘Forever Yours’

0

Coming just this Friday the 24th, Kygo has seemingly finished ‘Forever Yours’, a collaboration between the late Avicii and Sandro Cavazza. Kygo has been playing his version publicly for some time, most notably at the tribute concert.

After Avicii’s ‘TIM’ album and then multiple remixes from fellow artists, this is the most recent piece of posthumous music we have received.

In Sandro’s announcement post, he went in depth with the development and now release of the track;

This version of Forever Yours is a Tribute to Tim that me and Kygo have put together to honor what he has meant to both of us. The music we made together has changed my life and my perspective of music. He was Kygo’s biggest Idol and biggest inspiration and that’s what has made this Tribute possible.

We’re releasing this song together with Tim’s family and the proceeds from the track will go to the nonprofit Tim Bergling Foundation which benefits organizations that support mental health issues, suicide prevention and education, wildlife conservation and other issues that Tim had an interest in and passion for.

On the pre-save website dedicated to the track, some backstory on the inception of “Forever Yours” was shared:

During a trip across the US in 2016, Sandro Cavazza played Tim an early version of “Forever Yours.” Heading towards Avicii’s show at Ultra Miami, Tim immediately started working on it on the tour bus and played a demo at the festival. The song was never completed or released while Tim was alive, but now Kygo and Sandro have together produced a version to honor his memory.

You can pre-save the song here.
