Above & Beyond Drop Long-Awaited Club Mix Collection With ‘Out Of Time EP’

It looks like Christmas came early for the Anjunafamily, as Above & Beyond have dropped a three long-awaited tunes from their discography (six, if you count extended mixes), all bundled into one concise EP. All three tracks have been kept hidden in the depths of the trio’s hard drives, resurfacing from time to time in frustratingly short previews at live sets.

The EP starts off with the title track in its club mix. The Out Of Time Club Mix was debuted at ABGT100 – yes, you read that right – in Madison Square Gardens back in 2014. Originally recorded for their album, ‘We Are All We Need’ – yes, you read that right again – Out Of Time only just made the cut, being ‘one of the very last things we finished recording’.

Above & Beyond explain their rationale behind finally sharing this tune, along with two others, with the world, saying “We were, quite literally, running out of time to deliver the album, a sentiment that feels appropriate as we race into the final days of this decade.”

The other two club mixes, one off of their Common Ground album (Is It Love) and another an all-time classic (Alone Tonight) have also been tucked away for many a Christmas, but thankfully, the close of 2019 seemed like the apt time for the trio to finally let them loose into the world.

The 2010s might be coming to a close, but hopefully this ‘Out Of Time EP’ brings some warm, wayward melodies into your bittersweet reminisces of the decade.

Remix Radar 029: Featuring RÜFÜS DU SOL, The Avalanches, and OFFAIAH

0

Welcome back to Remix Radar! I hope my fellow Americans had a great Thanksgiving and ate plenty of food like the gluttons we all are. For my non-American friends, I hope you had a great week and enjoyed great tunes with great people.

Week 29 is here and that means it’s the kick-off to December. While we’re nearing the impending finale to the year, we are still receiving tasty tunes. We feature RÜFÜS DU SOL, The Avalanches, and OFFAIAH. Quite a delicious way to start the Year’s final month.

Foals – The Runner (RÜFÜS DU SOL Remix)

I love Foals. I love RÜFÜS DU SOL. Put them together and of course I love the product. RUFUS spins Foals’ “The Runner” into a 9 and a half minute brooding journey. It’s a culmination of two special sounds coming together to construct sonic ecstasy. Absolutely incredible.

The Chemical Brothers- Out Of Control (The Avalanches Surrender To Love Mix)

The Avalanches unveil a mesmerizing remix in honor of the 20th anniversary of The Chemical Brothers’ album, Surrender. “Out Of Control” was the third single taken and featured vocals by New Order’s Bernard Sumner and Primal Scream’s Bobby Gillespie. The Avalanches honor the original by creating something new and fresh. Instead of replicating the overall energy and sound that often comes from remixes, The duo flip it into something unexpected that is joyous and light vs the dark, industrial original. It’s an excellent way to mark their first remix since 2013.

Roberto Surace – Joys (OFFAIAH Remix)

Big fan of the previous remix of “Joys” from Purple Disco Machine. OFFAIAH adds another stellar remix to the pack with a thumping house version. The bass rumbles bringing a different attitude to the original from Roberto Surace.

Emmanuel Jal & Nyaruach – Ti Chuong (Solardo Remix)

Another stellar remix of Emmanuel Jal and Nyaruach’s “Ti Chuong”. Solardo follows the previously featured “supernatural” remix from Musumeci with a much different energy and style. While Musumeci unleashed a sassy disco sound, Solardo brings a whirling tech house reimagining. Another magnificent addition to the “Ti Chuong” remixes and to Solardo’s discography.

Galantis & Dolly Parton Ft. Mr. Probz – Faith (JØRD Remix)

Not going to lie, I am not a fan of the original nor the previous remixes of the mega-hit from Galantis, Dolly Parton, and Mr. Probz. I know I know I am a hater, but I felt it necessary to be honest. With that being said, JØRD constructs a new sound for “Faith” that I can enjoy and vibe to. It’s heavier and bassier with a puncturing attitude. Perfect for those who enjoy a little too much bass.

R3HAB & Vini Vici Ft. PANGEA & DEGO – Alive (Cityzen Remix)

Cityzen flips the Western-themed “Alive” into a roaring bass house remix that captivates the mind with slithering synths and enough bass to shatter windows. It is a completely different sound and attitude from the R3HAB & Vini Vici original and that’s a good thing.

Chase & Status ft. Kabaka Pyramid & Ms. Dynamite – Murder Music (SHY FX Remix)

DnB never sounded so good. SHY FX brings all the right energy, sounds, and attitude to the remix of Chase & Status’s “Murder Music”. It’s a juicy track that anyone can vibe with.

Four Tet – Teenage Birdsong (Avalon Emerson Scrub Jay Remix)

Four Tet gets an otherworldly remix from Avalon Emerson. The remix of “Teenage Birdsong” is very adventurous with a psychedelic spirit. Overall, Avalon Emerson brings a fresh and exciting sound to our ears. Kudos to Four Tet for bringing her talent to the forefront.

ONE FROM THE VAULT

Kylie Minogue – Slow (The Chemical Brothers Remix)

As I previously mentioned, we are in the midst of celebrating the 20th anniversary of The Chemical Brothers’ album, Surrender. To honor this milestone, I bring forth the group’s remix for pop superstar Kylie Minogue’s 2003 hit single, “Slow”. The Chemical brothers bring their trademark acid house style and the heavy distortion that has earmarked their work from inception. It’s classic Chemical Brothers at their finest.

Fun fact, the original release of this remix was on rare white label vinyl before a commercial release.

Nicky Romero Unleashes Progressive Remix of Armin van Buuren’s ‘Unlove You’

Finally these two Dutch powerhouse’s have both appeared on the same track title. Although it is not a direct collaboration, it is the next best thing. Nicky Romero lays down a brilliant progressive mix on top of Armin van Buuren’s recent pop offering.

Unleashing his own touch on the buzzing ‘Unlove You,’ Nicky Romero pushes into the night with his club-tailored interpretation. Enhanced with a hands-in-the-air melody and seamless arrangement, this remix is the perfect counterpart to Armin van Buuren and NE-YO’s smash hit.

“Armin van Buuren and I have been colleagues for a long time, so it’s about time we started working together. I was in the studio listening to the songs of his album ‘Balance’ and his track with NE-YO struck a chord with me. I coincidentally had a project open that matched the vibe and key of the record perfectly, so it was just meant to be. It’s a magnificent song, and I’m glad I got to make it my own.” – Nicky Romero

The production is the Romero style we have come to love the past few years, combined with the Ne-Yo’s captivating vocals results in arguably the best remix this week.

Remix Radar 028: Featuring R3hab, Dom Dolla, and Purple Disco Machine

0

Hello Friends! Welcome to Week 28 of everyone’s favorite feature, Remix Radar. Last week I mused that we were hitting the lull that happens around Thanksgiving and continues, until the New Year. It turns out I was wrong and that was a gross over-exaggeration. This week broke that trend and brought to our ears many, many remixes. Fortunately, I was able to form quite a tasty playlist for when you need to escape your family this Thanksgiving. Continue scrolling for the goods.

Meghan Trainor Ft. Mike Sabath – Wave (R3hab Remix)

What is there that hasn’t been said about R3hab? He’s been on top of his game ever since he broke into our conscious years ago. His remix of Meghan Trainor’s “Wave” brings us a wonderful, happy bounce that will fill listeners with a sense of warmth.

Dua Lipa – Don’t Start Now (Dom Dolla Remix)

I was a bit surprised when I saw this remix come across my computer screen because I never would have guessed or even thought that Dom Dolla would remix a pop track, let alone one of the hottest singers in the game. Even if it’s a pop track, Dom Dolla brings a bravado that can’t be matched and sees Dua Lipa’s angelic vocals become Dom’s muse. The overall sound is delicious and upbeat with a little less “wackiness” from what we’ve heard from previous Dom tracks.

Monolink – Take Me Home (Purple Disco Machine Remix)

Purple Disco Machine brings an unexpected sound to his remix of Monolink’s “Take Me Home”. The remix is dripping with Purple Disco Machine’s trademark funk and disco sounds, but he constructs a slower building song than we usually hear from PDM. That slow burn allows listeners to connect intimately to the groove and ride that wave through the entire eight minutes and change.

Sofi Tukker – Purple Hat (Novak Remix)

Another week, another dope Sofi Tukker remix. This time we get a punchy affair from Novak, a relatively new producer/DJ. While Novak may be young in his career, his sound has the poise of a 20-year veteran and it shines through on his take of “Purple Hat”.

Idris Elba – On Life (Illyus & Barrientos Remix)

The diehard following of Remix Radar will know that I am a big fan of anything Illyus & Barrientos releases. That trend continues with their take on actor and producer, Idris Elba’s “On Life”. The duo spin a lush expansive sonic journey that does justice to the original.

Yotto – Nova (Cassian Remix)

Another artist I stan heavily. Cassian brings a brooding, synth-wave to Yotto’s “Nova”. The Australian builds a bubbling soundscape that rises and crashes like waves careening into the coastline. Another delicious tune from Cassian.

Gryffin & Gorgon City with AlunaGeorge – Baggage (BOT Remix)

I absolutely love this remix from BOT. He creates a very interesting sound design with enough ear-catching sounds to keep my ADD in check.

The Knocks Ft. Gallant – Exit Sign (Wongo Remix)

Wongo rides the low-ends to build a growling remix from The knocks and Gallant’s “Exit Sign”. The remix punches and builds an all-encompassing rhythm that will soundtrack plenty of shuffling videos.

Joe Smooth – Promised Land (Erick Morillo Remix)

Two legends of the game, Joe Smooth and Erick Morillo combine on the remix of “Promised Land”. It’s quintessential sound from Erick Morillo, which sees him unleash a twisted, yet delightful house vibe.

LO’99 Ft. DOOLIE – Stay High (VIP Mix)

Another Australian on the list, Lo’99 peels back the prettiness and brings a boisterous VIP mix to his track “Stay High”. The low-ends rumble and penetrate the eardrums, while DOOLIE’s vocal brings a nice layer of delicious ear candy. The increase in distortion helps to make this a club banger.

Scotty Boy & Lizzie Curious – Lost In The Groove (DJ Vartan & Techcrasher Remix)

If you want to be consumed by danceable energy, this remix is for you. DJ Vartan and Techcrasher construct an insatiable groove that will get any listener “lost in the groove”. Filled with a sassy saxophone and a rhythmic bounce a perfect remix it is.

A R I Z O N A – Problems (Ship Wrek Remix)

Ship Wrek brings a really cool sound design to their remix of A R I Z O N A’s “Problems”. The remix leans into the bass, which oscillates around a well-constructed vocal chop. The culmination of these elements brings a rather fresh sound to the forefront.

Jack Back & CeCe Rogers – Freedom (Harry Romero Remix)

Jack Back aka David Guetta receives a stunning flip from Harry Romero. It conjures memories of old school house music that was alive and well in the 90s.

Cashmere – Disco Hallelujah (Maxim Lany Remix)

Maxim Lany drops the beat and bass down to build a melodic, deep house remix from Cashmere’s “Disco Hallelujah”. Mr. Lany highlights his prodigious talent by building something new and different from the original. It’s a great track for late-night hang outs.

King Arthur & LöKii – Friday (Zendlo Remix)

I’m loving all the house and tech-house tunes that have come out. Zendlo adds his name to the list with his remix of “Friday” from King Arthur and LöKii. He brings delightful energy built on the back of whimsical sounds and a thumping beat. Save this track for Friday and start the party in style.

Moguai – ACIIID (Kryder x Benny Benassi Remix)

Kryder and Benny Benassi light dancefloors on fire with the pounding and rambunctious remix of Moguai’s “ACIIID”. The pair utilizes sounds that would feel at home in the 90’s rave scene to build a perfect electro-house track.

Purple Haze – You & Me (Goose Remix)

I love this remix. It’s absolutely stunning work from Goose. He brings a searing sound that’s less delicate than the original. Where Purple Haze used a softer synth sound, Goose says “nah” and utilizes thick distortion to make “You & Me” heavier and darker.

Pan-Pot – Confronted (Pan-Pot Basement Remix)

It was tough to pick my favorite from Pan-Pot’s “Confronted” remix pack, which the duo released to mark the 10-year anniversary of the original release. All remixes are a bit out there and steeped in techno vibes with plenty of originality to keep listeners entertained. My favorite is Pan-Pot’s basement remix, which sees the duo lace the original with barking synths and snatches of vocal FX.

Tommie Sunshine & No Etiquette Ft. Sabrina Signs – Spiders (AFK Remix)

AFK douses “spiders” in heavy-hitting bass that will rattle eardrums and send listeners into rage-inducing head-banging. If you ever needed an example of why bass-heads get absolutely wild, this is it.

Stats – Never Loved (Void Complet Remix)

The most unique remix of the week, Void Complet brings an otherworldly sound design to indie-darlings Stats. “Never Loved” transforms from a nice, pleasant tune made from guitars, delicate keys, and drums to a weird, psychedelic electronic song that is over eight minutes long. It’s a vibe that’s for sure.

ONE FROM THE VAULT

Duck Sauce – Big Bad Wolf (Gesaffelstein Remix)

Thanks to my discovery in the back of my closet of a once thought lost vinyl, I remembered this fantastic remix of “Big Bad Wolf”. Gesaffelstein brings his trademark dark synths, distortion, and punchy bass to transform the track into something suitable for the Dark Prince. I would love a Duck Sauce comeback and would love to see them light up Coachella.

Remix Radar 027: Featuring Michael Bibi, Jamie Jones, and Mousse T.

0

Welcome Party People to this week’s Remix Radar! We are now on Edition 27 and it’s delicious treats. We’re starting to hit the holiday lull, which means fewer remixes and, in general, fewer songs. Fortunately for us, there were still some great remixes that came out. We feature Michael Bibi, Jamie Jones & Darius Syrossian, and a revitalization of a smash, global dance hit from Mousse T. Scroll down for the goods. It’s well worth the time!

Major Lazer with J Balvin & El Alfa – Que Calor (Michael Bibi’s 6am Dub)

We begin Edition 27 with the remix of Major Lazer’s recent hit with J Balvin and El Alfa. The original “Que Calor” hits the eardrums with vibrant Latin sounds that doused our fall season with joy and energy. It gets a little darker and sullen with Michael Bibi’s 6am Dub, which is packed with rumbling “wubs” and penetrating bass. It’s essentially the wild sister of the original and she prefers the darkness of a dimly lit club.

Green Velvet – Bigger Than Prince (Jamie Jones & Darius Syrossian Remix)

A boisterous affair. Jamie Jones and Darius Syrossian combine to bring a rhythmic punch to Green Velvet’s 2013 club hit, “Bigger Than Prince”.

Madison Avenue – Don’t Call Me Baby (Mousse T. Remix)

Back in 1999, a song radiated from Australia that would go on to become a smash, global dance hit and certified triple platinum. That song is “Don’t Call Me Baby” by the duo, Madison Avenue. In celebration of its 20th anniversary, Mousse T. was called upon to remix. He brings a modern refreshing that is equally delectable as the original and In doing so, the German honors Madison Avenue and the dance community.

S.A.M – Fury’s Laughter (Tube & Berger Remix)

Tube & Berger bring their trademark wacky and whimsical tech-house stylings to “Fury’s Laughter” from S.A.M. Listen to this on full blast with the bass turned up let the rumbling low-ends wash over you.

Dom Dolla – San Frandisco (Eli Brown Remix)

Dom Dolla continues to trickle out remixes of his “San Frandisco”. This time he employs Eli Brown. The British artist brings a spicier bite to the low-ends, which wallops listeners into submission.

Funkerman – The One (Redondo Remix)

Redondo bring their masterful skill to Funkerman’s “The One”. The duo fill the song with wub-y bass that forms a deep, growling sound that encapsulates the soul of the original. The culmination is a tune that is so intoxicating that it’ll entrance dancefloors.

P.S The rest of the remix pack is also juicy!

Shadow Child – The DBG (Mark Broom Remix)

I’m a big fan of anything Shadow Child puts out. In conjunction with the release of “The DBG”, he brings a raucous, house remix from Mark Broom. It’s an absolute party for the ears.

Africanism – Imbalayé (Boddhi Satva Remix)

For those who don’t know, Africanism is a collaborative project between several French producers, which includes David Guetta, Martin Solveig, Bob Sinclar, and many more, who collaborate with African-based artists and acts. Overall, the project has brought forth a lot of cool, original sounds and the remix of “Imbalayé” continues that streak. Boddhi Satva unleashes a wealth of vibrant sounds that twist and shake inside listeners’ brains for intoxicating results.

Kings Of Tomorrow – Fade II Black (Cevin Fisher Re-Edit)

Yoshitoshi Records celebrates its 25th anniversary with three compilations to honor the genres and sounds the label has released. The first release is Yoshitoshi’s House compilation, which brings us a delicious new edit of Kings Of Tomorrow’s “Fade II Black”. Cevin Fisher provides the revitalization of the 1997 track and brings a modern arrangement earmarked with booming percussion and brooding bass.

Holmes Ives & Avalon Frost – 8 Letters (David Penn Remix)

Another saucy track off Yoshitoshi 25: House compilation. David Penn brings the heat and breathes new life into Holmes Ives and Avalon Frost’s “8 Letters”. David punctuates the remix with an intoxicating groove that slithers through listeners’ bodies bringing its delightful embrace with it.

Underworld & Ø [Phase] – Border Country (Adam Beyer & Bart Skils Remix)

Underworld and Ø [Phase]’s “Border Country” receives a techno remix from Adam Beyer and Bart Skils. True to form, the duo brings a steely beat and dark atmosphere formed by heavy distortion and energy.

ONE FROM THE VAULT

Karma – Beach Towel (I:Cube Cosmix Marathon Remix)

Deep from the vault, I bring a wild sound. I:Cube constructs a full-body, spacy remix that is a lush sonic experience. Karma’s “Beach Towel” goes from a shimmering, ambient sound to a groovy, synth-heavy tune, which is aptly titled and described as a cosmic marathon.

Remix Radar 026: Featuring Nora En Pure, MK, and MEDUZA

0

We’re at the half-year mark of Remix Radars. Crazy how time flies with great tunes! This week we’re all about quality over quantity. We feature tantalizing remixes from Nora En Pure, MK, and MEDUZA. Plus to top it off like a fine wine, we have some of the freshest and most creative remixes of the year. Scroll down to reveal the wonders of this week’s Remix Radar!

Above & Beyond & Seven Lions Ft. Opposite The Other – See The End (Nora En Pure Remix)

Nora En Pure pulls listeners into the depths of swirling synths, lush violins and penetrating, yet delicate piano chords on her remix of “See The End”. There isn’t anything quite like the emotive connection that comes from Nora’s tracks and this one is no different.

Georgia – Never Let You Go (MK Remix)

MK brings his sultry and distinct sound to the indie-pop tune, “Never Let You Go”, from Georgia. It’s built from his trademark house stylings with a wonderous vocal chop and jubilant piano melody. It will stir feelings of joy and hope that, I believe, will bring a smile to anyone’s face, no matter the circumstances.

R Plus & Dido – My Boy (MEDUZA Remix)

We at CULTR have extensively covered the meteoric rise of MEDUZA and all praise has been deserved. He add another incendiary track to his discography with his remix of “My Boy” by R Plus and Dido. The production is exquisite and the vocals fit like a glove.

Big Wild Ft. Rationale – 6’s to 9’s (CAZZETTE Remix)

Last week, Big Wild dropped his remix pack for “6’s to 9’s” and it contains the joyous remix from CAZZETTE. The song is rather downtempo, but it has nice energy that swirls and encapsulates listeners. I can imagine this track set to confetti falling with lasers and lights flashing, while a crowd ravenously consumes every ounce.

SHAED & ZAYN – Trampoline (Joel Corry Remix)

SHAED first grabbed our attention with the original version of “Trampoline”, which danced around our consciouses for what seemed like ages and was aided by its placement in an Apple MacBook Air TV Commercial. They followed it up with a duet version that features ZAYN that has also racked up millions and millions of plays. That version receives the Joel Corry treatment and becomes a boisterous and dark house tune. The ominous feel works well with the vocals of both artists.

Honors – Automatic (Two Can Remix)

Easily the freshest remix of the week. Two Can’s unexpected flip of Honors’ Automatic deserves multiple listens to digest and appreciate the full sonic range of the ear-candy. Who knew Two Can and Honors could become so wonderfully wacky?

Laurent Wolf – No Stress (Sofi Tukker Remix)

The Laurent Wolf revival of “No Stress” continues with another fresh remix. This time from Sofi Tukker. The duo spins the track into a unique and distinct sound that contains a driving rhythm and piano melody that leads listeners down a sonic path built by equal parts of raucous and mysterious energy.

Adam Beyer – What You Need (Kölsch Remix)

Kölsch refreshes Adam Beyer’s 2015 track, “What You Need”. The track builds and bubbles bringing listeners on the twisted and euphoric journey that comes from the mixture of Kölsch and Adam Beyer. The remix does the original its justice.

Crooked Colours – Heart String (Christopher Port Remix)

Crooked Colours continues their remix releases and employ Christopher Port to bring his sound to “Heart String”. There’s a cool, deep grooviness Christopher brings to the song. It builds and swells with intricate sound design that will keep the most distracted of listeners entranced.

KiWi – Witch’s Lesson (Wiwek Remix)

Wiwek unleashes ferocious waves of bass and distortion directly into the brain stem on his remix of KiWi’s “Witch’s Lesson”. This remix will make you feel like you’re on a bad trip through a demented Alice In Wonderland.

Loocalooma – Mirabella (Avoure Remix)

Avoure adds driving rhythm to the deep, melodic vibe of Loocalooma’s Mirabella, with captivating results. The exhilarating tune is perfect as an end-of-night soundtrack.

Funkerman – Speed Up (Menesix Remix)

The 2006 release “Speed Up” from Funkerman receives a revitalization from Menesix. His remix brings a deep, techy reimaging spiced with piercing synths for extra flavor. A perfect revival for a classic.

ONE FROM THE VAULT

Grizzly Bear – Sleeping Ute (Nicolas Jaar Remix)

“Sleeping Ute” was a massive tune for Grizzly Bear. It sent the group hurling forwarded, front and center of the Indie world. To do it justice, it would take a mind of equal genius to provide anything that would remotely do it justice. Fortunately, Nicolas Jaar got his hands on “Sleeping Ute” and created a beautiful arrangement. He fills the remix full of rich sounds that oscillate between the highs and lows of the sound spectrum and builds with seductive energy that ensnares listeners in its wake. It’s a perfect remix from Nicolas Jaar.

Remix Radar 025: Featuring Jonas Blue, NGHTMRE, and Axwell

0

Welcome to the Twenty-fifth edition of Remix Radar! We have quite the doozy of a week. A lot of quality of remixes we’re released with quite a few that had to be cut that would have made it in prior weeks. Sad, but it has to happen or I’d spend 15 hours a week on exclusively Remix Radar and I can’t do that.

Enough ranting, scroll down for what one man declares as the best remixes of the week. It’s well worth it!

Regard – Ride It (Jonas Blue Remix)

We start this week with arguably one of the most viral tracks of the year and its remix. Regard’s “Ride It” exploded on TikTok and spread like wildfire. Jonas Blue, an artist who knows a thing or two about massive blowups, brings his vision and provides a nice reimagining that will surely bring even more spins to Regard.

Habstrakt – The One (NGHTMRE Remix)

NGHTMRE takes Habstrakt’s “The One” to another dimension of BASS. If “The One” started on a level of 9 on a scale of bass intensity then NGHTMRE brings it up to an even spicier level not even on the scales. Sit back and let NGHTMRE blow your mind.

Halsey – Graveyard (Axwell Remix)

If you told me this was a remix of Halsey, I wouldn’t believe you and that isn’t a bad thing. Axwell does a great job of creating an infectious bounce that mixes with the pitched-up vocal sample for tasty ear-candy.

Mahalia Ft. Ella Mai – What You Did (Preditah Remix)

Preditah brings his trademark UK garage stylings to breath a club spirit into Mahalia and Ella Mai’s sexy RnB tune, “What You Did”. After listening to this 15 times, I’m confident in saying Preditah and Mahalia definitely need to link on a collaboration.

Grimes & i_o – Violence (Club Mix)

Not your traditional remix. Nonetheless, it’s a very cool club mix of Grimes & i_o’s “Violence”. I personally prefer the “club thump” to the original.

REYNA – The Way I Loved You (RAC Mix)

REYNA comes from my home state of Wisconsin so I will admit I have a soft spot for them. However, that doesn’t cloud my judgment for their RAC mix because it’s WITHOUT a doubt a great song. RAC brings that delectable groove that he’s brought to many songs. This one will skate around your head and will stay cemented there until the New Year.

P.S give a listen to REYNA. They bring a really cool sound to the indie-pop world.

Riton and Oliver Heldens Ft. Vula – Turn Me On (Marshall Jefferson Anthem Mix)

This is an absolutely saucy and groovy tune. One of the original purveyors of Chicago House, Marshall Jefferson brings a classic house mix and feel to Riton and Oliver Heldens’ “Turn Me On”. It’s an absolutely wonderful tune.

AURORA – Daydreamer (KDA London Dub Mix)

KDA brings a new perspective to AURORA’s “Daydreamer”. The British artist weaves frosty beats and sexy textures to construct a lush sound that will wow listeners.

Hot Since 82 – Tilted (Raxon Remix)

Raxon brings a terror-inducing sound to the remix of Hot Since 82’s “Titled”. The dark sound was a perfect tie-in for the final spooky weekend of the Halloween season.

Robosonic & EMPD – For The People (Illyus & Barrientos Remix)

A joyous sonic experience brought to you by Illyus & Barrientos. The duo increases the BPM and lets the bass roar and energy swell to build a hypnotic rhythm from Robosonic & EMPD’s “For The People”. 100% banger.

PNAU Ft. Ollie Gabriel – All Of Us (Brux Remix)

PNAU’s “All Of Us” gets a spacy house remix from Brux. It rattles and thumps with infectious sound design. Brux definitely brings his trademark brooding rhythms to the remix.

Dom Dolla – San Frandisco (Walker & Royce Remix)

I love the original and I now love the remix. Walker & Royce lace Dom Dolla’s “San Frandisco” with outrageous sounds and samples to create a dreamland for tech-house fans.

DOPE LEMON – Hey You (Dope Lemon Vs. Cedric Gervais) [Cedric Gervais Remix]

Cedric Gervais creates quite an unexpected sound from the growling indie tune by DOPE LEMON. Cedric’s remix brings his classic house sound to “Hey You”. The track has a sexiness that makes this perfect for laser-lit clubs.

Robinson – Don’t Say (PBH & Jack Remix)

PBH & Jack drizzle intoxicating synth-waves on Robinson’s “Don’t Say” to construct a sizzler of a remix. it’s clear to see why BBC Radio 1’s Mistajam named them “ones to watch”.

Lastings – Last Breath (Adult Art Club Remix)

I’ve been a big fan of the music from Lastlings and Adult Art Club. That fandom doesn’t change as Adult Art Club transforms “Last Breath” into a dark and twisted synth-heavy tune that is layered with intricate sounds. It’s pure ecstasy.

Eli & Fur – Into The night (Black Circle Remix)

Eli & Fur gets a little deeper and darker with a remix from Black Circle. There’s a lot of interesting sounds that ring throughout this track and forms a nice cosmic-like journey for listeners.

Elderbrook with Rudimental – Something About You (Mason Maynard Remix)

Mason Maynard drips his trademark psychedelic house vibes on Elderbrook and Rudimental’s “Something About You”. There’s something about this remix that will leave an insatiable groove rattling between listeners’ ears.

Fatoumata Diawara – Kokoro (Laolu Remix)

The Malian Grammy-nominated artist, Fatoumata Diawara, gets a haunting house remix from Laolu. The Swiss artist creates infectious energy and sound that listeners will come back to many times. It also seems to be perfect for a hipster house party.

Laurent Wolf – No Stress (Tommie Sunshine & MureKian Remix)

I had the pleasure of meeting Tommie Sunshine at this year’s ADE and I have to say, he’s easily one of the nicest guys in Dance Music. He is also really great at producing dope tracks. His streak of dopeness continues with MureKian and their remix of Laurent Wolf’s “No Stress”.

Robbie Dox – Mymind (The Cube Guys Remix)

The Cube Guys keep creating funk-inspired tunes and I am loving every second of it. Their spin of “Mymind” is groove-tastic and will start a party anywhere it’s played. An absolute banger.

Detriot Swindle – The Life Behind Things (Isoul8 Remix)

Isoul8 unleashes a vibrant groove to unlock the party for listeners. The newcomer definitely brings a delightful and psychedelic spirit to Detroit Swindle’s “The Life Behind”.

Tony Casanova – Kap Suzette (Jonas Saalbach Remix)

Jonas Saalbach builds an atmospheric soundscape from Tony Casanova’s “Kap Suzette”. The slow build-up of intricate layers is well worth the wait as it consumes listeners with the full vibrancy of the sound.

League Of Legends – Phoenix (Blanke Remix)

I am surprised it took this long for League Of Legends to capitalize on the convergence between gaming and dance music, which we’ve seen plenty of in the past couple of years. Gladly, League Of Legends brings in the always impressive Blanke to remix “Phoenix”. The result is a well-spirited, future bass tune that League fans will enjoy.

Knife Party Ft. Harrison – Death & Desire (Laidback Luke Remix)

Laidback Luke conjures spirits from 2012 EDM to construct a whirling remix from Knife Party’s “Death & Desire”. This one will hit listeners with feelings of nostalgia.

Sultan + Shepard, Rock Mafia & Bahari – Miles to Your Heart (HARBER Remix)

Burgeoning artist, HARBER, brings a playful exuberance to “Miles to Your Heart”, the collaboration between Sultan + Shepard, Rock Mafia & Bahari. It’s a very fun and joyous remix that will bring warmth to listeners’ days.

Brooklyn Bounce – Bass, Beats, & Melody (Sergio Marini & Luke Remix)

Sergio Marini & Luke create the perfect remix to soundtrack a vampire party. Or I still have a Halloween hangover clouding my judgment… Anyway, the progressive techno stylings make for a juicy remix that will feel at home in any dimly lit, cement only rooms.

ONE FROM THE VAULT

Teenage Bad Girl – Cocotte (Boys Noize Rework)

In honor of Boys Noize’s recent releases and appearance as Dog Blood at HARD Day Of The Dead this past Saturday, I bring forth the Boys Noize rework of Teenage Bad Girl’s “Cocotte”. In what would become a familiar Boys Noize element, he unleashes a heavy amount of distortion that creates an almost Daft Punk quality – listen to “Robot Rock/Oh Yeah” off Alive 2007 and you’ll get what I mean. Overall, I really enjoy the scratchy, demented sound that Boys Noize constructs.

Axwell Returns To The Remix Game With Rework of Halsey’s ‘Graveyard’

Axwell, one third of the iconic Swedish House Mafia trio has just published his fresh new mix of Halsey’s ‘Graveyard’. Similar to his recent exports, this production presents a thrilling house beat together with the catchy aspects of Halsey’s original.

Whilst Axwell has been likely hard at work on new Swedish House Mafia music, he has also released his original ‘Nobody Else’ as well as a remix of Martin Solving and Jax Jones’ ‘All Day and Night’ and a cut of Redfield’s ‘Don’t Worry’ on his own imprint. All these releases have encompassed Axwell’s new bouncy house sound that he premiered with ‘Nobody Else’.

With this remix, Axwell has tweaked the vocals heavily, changing them from Halsey’s sweet sound to a darker and deeper vox. The punchy melody is spread evenly throughout the production, maintaining a consistent arrangement.

With new Swedish House Mafia music existing but not yet in our hands, receiving music such as this piece is refreshing and keeps us at ease. Once again Axwell has provided the goods in terms of a remix, we hope we seen another soon!
